Direct injection 2 Strokes creates a 4-stroke power band. For most people
that is better. But like I many people like that hit. With Direction
injection you can have different power curves. It is possible to make a
power band that is narrower...than a current carbureted 2-stroke. Aprilia
made a direct injection RS250 and did this. They had easy power curves like
a 4 stroke, aggressive curves, and curves that emulated carb 2-strokes with
that very hard hit harder hitting than today's 2 Strokes.
Twostrokes which don't have pistons firing exactly simultaneously, must
always have one *expansion chamber* per cylinder. On a two stroke the
exhaust has a different task. It has to create a counter-pressure, a
pressure-wave which among other things keep excess fuel inside the
cylinder, but also give a tuned stroker optimal power at high reves, along
with the other tuning-gear. On a four-stroke it's just "as much in as
possible and out as possible, so a big pipe will do for four cylinders:)
what a retarded comment a 2stroke produces twice the power of a 4 stroke of
equivalent cc's! 4 Strokes need all that to come close to two stroke this
is why the 250cc gp were replaced with 600cc and look up the lap times the
bikes are 5seconds slower a lap than 250's but time will improve and yes
the racing ia so much closer now..the other reason for getting rid of 2t
was emissions...love the smell of 2t in the morning. 2t are lighter and
therefore power to weight was high
The Aprilla RS125 is a race bike, not made for the road. Would a nascar or
F1 car be reliable on the road? No. Look at the boating industry, there are
e tec 2 strokes that burn cleaner than the 4 strokes of the same horsepower
and are ran harder than cars and last just as long. Can't compare a 125
carbureted 80s tech 2 stroke to a fuel injected 4 stroke gsxr600. I love
the 4 strokes for cruising but with fuel injection, 2 strokes last just as
long as a 4 stroke.
Oui. Correct. This particular bike has a 575cc RG Gamma motor in an RC30
frame with a GSX-R 750 front end. Makes a tad under 140hp and about 135kg,
dry. There is also one that uses a first generation GSX-R 1000 frame and
suspension. It's 612cc with just under 150hp. They actually work. Which is
rare because there are so many crap "specials" out there that don't go
around corners well.
Direct Injection 2 strokes have been in boating and in the snowmobile
industry for awhile and they are much more cleaner than a 4 stroke of the
same horsepower. Look at the E-tec boat motors from Evinrude, they are
direct injected 2 strokes and are pushed harder than cars and last just as
long. Look at the ski doo E tec also.
In 1972, some built the Byra "OSSA MAYOR" 1000cc 4cyl 2 stroke... but it
turned into a dramatic storie and it ended as soon at it started. This bike
was 115HP. Also i'm pretty sure about another 1000cc or big cubic 2T built
betwen 1995 and 2000, can't remember...
It took 5 cylinder 1000cc V5 with nitro 4 strokes with traction control,
advanced suspension and computers to beat these litle 500cc's V4 2 Strokes
in MotoGP. There is NO better, more powerful form of kinetic energy than a
2 stroke.
Australian firm Tularis makes 800cc stroker twin racers with 180hp, and
1200triples with 270hp Suzuki strokers from Polaris, Arctic cat
snowmobiles. A reporter were allowed to test the 800, and he was very
scared afterwards:)
just put two lobes at opposite sides of each other on the cam shafts and
doubled the ignition sequence with pneumatic valves and boom, you got a 2
stroke 4 stroke, best of both worlds. probably won't rev too high though.
Make a 1000cc V4 2 stroke superbike with fuel injection or Direct
Injection, all the tech that the 4 strokes are getting, and a modern frame
and there you have it. A 4 stroke killer
Actually you are also very far off. The frame is a one off custom build
with an NC30 swingarm. Just Google Gilles Coulanges and you will find all
the info you need.
The point of 2 strokes is that you don't even need 1000cc to beat a 1000cc
4 stroke. A 750 or even 500 cc 2 stroke with today's technology would be
enough.
