When I am scipting, do I have to call the pkg load symbolic in every code?

+Nuno Brandão Hi Nuno, unfortunately, yes you do. I like to create a .m script file whose contents represent code I always need to run when I open Octave. That way, I can open the script file, run it, and I never forget to execute code.

Great video. But for the error I got something a little different. Here's what I got: error: could not download file symbolic-2.2.2.tar.gz from url //packages.octave.org/download/symbolic -2.2.2.tar.gz error: called from pkg at line 400 column 13 Then I made the Python path as you directed, and ran it again and got this: warning: creating installation directory C:\Octave\Oc tave-4.0.0\share\octave\packages warning: called from install at line 30 column 5 pkg at line 405 column 9 For information about changes from previous versions of the symbolic package, run 'news symbolic'. Just out of curiosity...is that still ok? Will everything work or...?

+David Thackrey Hi David, This seems like a normal response from Octave. Warnings aren't necessarily indicative of failures in execution. The easiest way to check that everything is working properly is to define a symbol and attempt to either take a derivative or an integral with respect to that variable.
