When people speeds is the worst, where we camp they tickets alot people but
the last 2 or 3 years i dont see anyone checking for people
speeding.......sad alot kids playing around

+elmaster22 Ultimately it will take someone getting injured before anything gets done.so sad. I still love camping though.. I think a lot of the speeders should be pitied upon too as they are missing out on what camping is suppose to be all about, that is relaxation and enjoying their surroundings. How many times have you seen some great wildlife catches while driving in, through, and out of the park? They are missing it.

I think you two are a perfect match You compliment each other in positive
ways and it shows. That was in response to your question "does Heidi ever
tire of my constant ranting?" You're quite right about the rules and how
people used to adhere closely to not only the rules but were always polite,
friendly, and considerate of their fellow campers. It was a relaxing
experience to go camping. No more. Rudeness and indifference is all to
common. If I were ever to go camping in Northern Ohio, in the fall of the
year I could think of no two people I would like more as neighbors, in the
camp ground, than you two. Trouble is the likelihood of my wife and I being
in Ohio in the fall of the year is less than zero for obvious reasons and
then some. No offense intended to the great fall weather of Ohio. However,
the folks from Ohio are already streaming into our state and they make
rather strong comments about ....well you know what they say. I have
neighbors from Ohio and they live here all year long and I never bring up
Ohio weather. I learned my lesson on that. Always enjoy your post and you
have a good sense of humor. Heidi is indeed lucky to have a man with your
talents and qualities.

We used to camp in a nice state forest land campground that is no longer
open to the public. The people who camped there started abusing the place
by doing a lot of the things you mentioned. The last trip we took there we
met a family who had several tents on their spot along with clothes lines
and sundry other things. They had been living there all summer. The next
year there was a locked gate on the entrance to the place:-(

In the last 20 years or so, we've seen more and more places closed to the public. We can only assume that it just got too expensive or dangerous to keep these areas patrolled and maintained. It's a dirty shame for sure. Inconsiderate people need to be reminded that their thoughtlessness impacts everyone. Thanks for the heads up.

Wow! That's terrible.. If they didn't have a choice, then it is understandable to a point. I can't imagine any of the Ohio state parks getting to that extreme. But, who knows.. Recently I've seen some things that would have never been allowed just 8 years ago. Fingers crossed it doesn't get worse.
