Definitely interested now. I love the idea of her putting in that effort.
I'm always amazed at people who are able to quit their jobs and do that, it
takes a lot of courage. Thank you!
I, too, appreciated the work/effort she put into the book...I'd love to do
the same for my family (when I retire). I read Cane River and Red River
years ago and met her during her Cane River tour and got my book signed.
Looking forward to her next release this fall - Citizens Creek:

I don't know if I have it in me to be as focused and dedicated as she was. Thankfully there are some other members in my family who are. I didn't even know she had another book coining out!!! Now I really need to get my TBR situation together!
Are you going to continue with Red River? That's the second part. I feel I
need to reread Cane river. It's been a while. I'd love to read Red River.
Cane river is the story of the family of one of my closest friends.
Excellent review!
I know but if you know anything about Louisiana everybody could be linked to another black or white. It's such a place of mixed origins. Too bad we still can't make that imaginary colour line disappear. :(
Yes I will be reading Red River. I haven't bought it yet. Wow! That's amazing that your friend is linked to this story!

Drop the illegals off at their nation's embassies. Let them handle it. When
a few hundred kids begin clogging the toilets at their nation's embassies
they will act. Their own nations do not want them. What does that tell you?
No Amnesty! If anything other than returning these and ALL illegals to
their countries of origin, it means the government their agents and
supporters have declared civil war.
Arrest them. Arizone may be prevented from deporting them, but they can
sure as hell arrest them. Eventually, they wil be flocking OUT of the
state on their own.
An excerpt from the end of the program, when Lalita Tademy is answering audience questions about "Cane River" and her other work. This event was part of the ...
Excellent book! Especially when the book is read with an open mind of how
we get trapped in the labels people place one another -- and the hypocrisy
of "southern culture".
