This movie was downright spectacular! I have never heard of the duplass brothers before this film, in fact i saw a trailer for this in another movie last month and thought it would be a quirky fun little comedy. I went in with low expectations and I was blown away. This movie is very touching. Very real. I like it because it's a movie about real life, situations that you could see happening. The mothers storyline...meh, thought it was just filler to fill the gaps to stretch the movie out longer.

The sprinkler thing didn't feel out of place, to me... Susan Sarandon's character said she wanted to kiss under a waterfall or whatever. Her co-worker was showing her that she really did get her and stuff. I dunno, it didn't feel too soppy. Just. Like. 80s romcom soppy.

this was indeed my first Duplass Bros film and i really did enjoy it! i do agree with you in the fact that the scene with the fire alarm was a bit too cliche'd, but i still really liked this movie!
