Got pulled over by CHP one morning in Inyo Co one day, had the Remington 870 and a Marlin .22 mag on the seat, both unloaded with actions open showing clear. Officer was like, doing some hunting this morning? I was like yes mam, and she sent me on my way!

yeah, i think the rural section of CA are more normal.  the urban centers are crazy though... thanks for watching.

Thank you for the video . it was very informative . so as long as its in a case made for it its legal . now what in a truck where it only has a bench seat . when its folded down there is not enough room to fit it or putting it in the bed is to dangerous because it will slide around . do I just stand it up on the passenger side ? Also who do you vote for Hillery or Ron for president ?
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-uAo_3nL2cAI/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAFc/1Q8hliHaTEE/photo.jpg?sz=64
lmao... i was just kidding about Hillary, she's probably the worst option ever conceived by the dems

i would love to buy one to but im in the process of buying a truck .i always thought hillery was part of the clinton gun ban ?

For a truck, a locked case (bag or whatever) on the front seat will be fine.  I'm getting a tonneau cover for the back of my truck to make it easier to travel with firearms and ammo, but they are expensive.didn't everyone in the gun community vote for Hillary?

Calguns is a great resource for legal information & they fund pro gun rights litigation as well as being activate litigants.

they really are.  the forums are full of information for california gun owners.

I like to stay legal and lock all of my rifle cases. I'm sure that most LEO's are not up to date on the laws

+gunnwild1 Law Enforcement Officers not up to date on the laws? So they don't really enforce the laws then cause they don't know what they are. ?
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-uAo_3nL2cAI/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAFc/1Q8hliHaTEE/photo.jpg?sz=64
that's always the best bet.  i would rather be safe than sorry.

Hope things change for all of you having to put up with these bs laws.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-uAo_3nL2cAI/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAFc/1Q8hliHaTEE/photo.jpg?sz=64
thanks.  unfortunately California is pretty stuck in it's ways.  hopefully with the roster being challenged as well as CCW being opened up it'll start to change... i'm not holding my breath though.

That was a good explanation and also about the side saddle I am with you as make it easy for yourself and the officer but not having any ammo in it...Too many laws overlap and all you can do at the end of the day is your best to follow them....
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-uAo_3nL2cAI/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAFc/1Q8hliHaTEE/photo.jpg?sz=64
exactly brother.  thanks for watching.

Here in MD our law states that the ammo, during transportation, must be stored separately from the fire arm and out of reach. So for me guns always go in the trunk and ammo in the back seat. The law specifies that a locked glove box does not count.

+echoThreeOneSix No--I think separately means in the attached magazine pouches on your carbine case.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-uAo_3nL2cAI/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAFc/1Q8hliHaTEE/photo.jpg?sz=64
oh man, effectively making your firearm useless in a defensive scenario...
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-0cR3eKPEG44/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABs/6f2LJJY9Vpc/photo.jpg?sz=64
+echoThreeOneSix so if ur mags are loaded then they must be STORED separately from the encased firearms. If the mags are unloaded then they can be stored within the encased firearm.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-uAo_3nL2cAI/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAFc/1Q8hliHaTEE/photo.jpg?sz=64
what do they mean by stored?  like in a different container?  ...i STORE several rounds inside my magazines, lol.
