Plus Size Discrimination
Lately in the media fat people are being targeted yet again about various topics. Kevin Smith recently was publicly humiliated on a plane and this has led to ...
I understand there is a difference between 'plus size' and 'fat', and that
people should look after their bodies. But here's the thing that bugs me.
When there is an anorexic or bulimic, it is widely known to be a mental
illness and people understand they need 'help'. They don't go 'ew! Look
after your body, you self- centered twig'. Binge eating can ALSO be related
to a mental illness, whether it be with depression, stress, emotional
trauma etc. YES. Let's look after our bodies. But don't assume fat people
are just lazy. If someone is mentally ill, it AFFECTS them. If you are
considerate and patient with anorexics and bulimics, who not obese people?
Look, but don't judge people. God bless :)
I'm not saying it's the same thing as being anorexic or bulimic. I'm truly sorry you've had to go through what you've gone through. I just wish some people would understand an illness for what it is and not what it is told to be by the masses. My father gained weight after his brother died and he ended up getting addicted to food, drugs, and eventually he got himself killed. It's all a horrible, horrible mess and anyone who suffers with an eating disorder of any kind needs and deserves help.
Great theory, but when I was anorexic I got PLENTY of that. Followed by strangers, berated by medical professionals... Not only that, but anorexics and bulimic a get involuntarily incarcerated in psych hospitals and get turned in to CPS. Obese people generally do not.
