Your demonstration would have been better served if you did not just use
the middle of the lawn and run the machine to dig a furrow. You should
have used an existing landscape bed where there was no edging utilized.
Then, (and this is what I do all the time), reshape the landscape bed first
using a flat shovel, taking out the grass that crept into it, discard the
excess grass, then go over that shovel cut crisp line with the Trenchmaster
bed edger, power digging the furrow, then install the plastic edge. Your
demo shows backfilling the machine furrow with soil and grass only to have
that grass regrow in front of the edging which is what you don't want in a
garden landscape. That is pure sloppiness for a demonstration. People need
to know it's not recommended to just take a machine into the lawn and start
trenching away when installing the plastic edging. It's more involved, but
worth the time spent Now for dog fence, yes, and poly pipe, perfect, but
not a clean bed that should be grass free. I've owned my Trenchmaster by
Brown Mfg. for over 20 years, and I've told so many people, that "if I had
to buy one of these every year for my business, it still would be worth
it". That machine makes me look good.
