Phone Arena reviews the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. It is the first ever Windows Mobile smartphone from this manufacturer and sports a 3" WVGA screen, SE ...
I hate to disappoint you guys but i'm entitled to my own opinion. i bought
it online for $508.00 + shipping and returned it after 6 days of using it
wt 20% restocking fee. keyboard is awesome but you need to tap harder to
make the touch screen work. Screen is long but not wide enough to get a
better view. Zooming is limited to tapping the screen twice, you can't zoom
it further to desired size. Fixed Font size in the settings is too small
for me to read. I got iphone 3g s now. Thanks
in resistive touch there's a layer of plastic over the actual screen, and
in order for it to register your touch you have to push the layer of
plastic so that it touches the screen beneath it. with capacitive the
screen is usually glass with nothing covering it, so you don't have to
"push" against it, you just touch it lightly. in my opinion capacitive is
better for phones like the iphone where its a screen for your fingers.
resistive is better on phones that use a stylus.
I have this phone for almost a year. It was fun for 3weeks but it's full of
bugs, everything is laggy, I tried loads of other roms but it stays
sluggish. The worst problem is the keyboard. My keyboard responds 30% of
the time and when it responds it just floods that letter. I Hate this phone
so hard that I had many times the intention to break it in half. I throwed
this thing many times against the wall, i started to use this device as
bottle opener. Don't buy it ^^
In two years use, this phone has never needed to be rebooted, plays TV
brilliantly via WLAN and iPlayer, has all of the MS Office apps that I
need, a crackin' camera, superby sound quality, and top-notch keyboard. I
have even been able to update websites with this thing! I wish the children
would run along and play with their i-Phads and leave those of us who know
Windows Mobile to enjoy one of the best phones on the market.
He cant bloody get the stylus out nor open the case for the battery cos he
hasn't got an inch of fingernail!! With those length of fingernails, he
cant get the stylus out of ANY phones nor open the battery cover! I have
tested the phone before and have no issues getting the stylus out or
changing the battery. Bad review.
Review wise it seemed good overall, but I disliked how the reviewer avoided
some glaringly obvious problems such as how abysmally slow the phone was in
some areas and how in the media section the touch sensitivity was
ridiculous and counter intuitive. And, yeah, it does seem like his just
reading off a script. :/
@majid921 - Contact your nearest Sony Ericsson service centre. Find out
there address and number from SE's website. They will replace the cover or
panel that has cracked with some charges. If you doubt there is more damage
to the phone then go for complete servicing.
How in hell can this keyboard be the best one you have ever used??? O.o I
had this phone for over an year and the greatest disappointment of all the
many ones was the keyboard.. It kept repeating letters time after time,
typed 2 characters at one push of a button...

hey guys! what a dilemma! dunno what to pick - SE Aspen or Nokia E5? can
anyone give me a good advise?? even though i am a SE guy, the E5 seems to
be a little better or not?
I really dont think that a slider smartphone is very efficient .. when you
slide it it becomes to big and thats one of the biggest problems (the
size). Im using the P1i and i think (at a design point) its better. And
besides UIQ was a failure when S60 became famous :)
This phone is really ingenious ... and it really sucks that they are
cancelling it! I#ve been waiting for a phone like this for 1,5 years (at
the moment I'm using the P1i) .....
That thing looks incredible, I'd have seriously brought that if it'd been
released! Proper smartphone functionality but in a really slick slider
design ;)
