I like JT as Roman, but then he was the first one I saw. Wayne's Roman seems such a whiny sod. I do see your point, though. Roman has been spectacularly useless since he came back, hasn't he. It's a shame, as there are things they could do with him if they bothered to try. Not sure that the plastic surgery thing would make sense, though. Not that it ever did. :D Why would Stefano bring Roman back to scupper the wedding plans, but give him a new face first? And where does Alex North fit in?! ;)

I always found it so funny that no one ever freaked out that he used to look totally different. She barely even gave him a funny look. I would have got the Hell out of there had he tried to tell me that was "what he used to look like". He could be an axe murderer or something! lol. And somehow that year and a half turned into years as a mercenary? He's my favorite Roman too. But had he stayed Roman, we would have never had John.And he is this Roman and then some. You have to remember that.

I read something somewhere where someone said that all the years as John could be written off as some kind of dream, and that John would be the real Roman after all. The writers now couldnt pull it off, and it would be crazy, but it would make for an awesome twist and some crazy plots. Personally, Id like to see JT go back as Chris. He was so much more likable as him. He could have been brainwashed to believe that he was Roman before his return, so Kristin could be with John or something.

Screw that for a game of marbles. I know that JF likes the idea, but I won't even give it headroom. It's not only a lousy idea, but it's rubbish drama. You don't create a fascinating character like John, and then say "Well actually none of that happened, and he's really just a regular guy after all." That's the worst kind of cop out. And for Chris to have been brainwashed to think he was Roman, the whole of Salem would have to have been brainwashed too. :D They recognised him as Roman!

I've splained to you there is this fanfic where Stefano gave all of John's memories abilities to Roman. They mess up Marlena wonderfully as well, and I loved it. However, I can't really get past that I love that Stefano and John's father/son relationship, and if he were really Roman, that relationship wouldn't be there, so I regretably wave that I want John to go back to being Roman. Drake should just play Roman AND John BOTH, and JT can go back to being Chris. No one would notice. :D

Gads, you guys are too busy to keep up with. Why in the world didn't they cast a different actor as Alex North. That just made NO sense to me at all. Did they really think they could use flashbacks of Marlena and Roman, and we'd not remember them??? As you say, the real problem with JT is he is useless. You have Bo, Hope, and Abe. Now Steve as a PI. You just don't need another cop. He was ok with Kate, but without her, he's just lurking for any chance with Doc.

I'm trying to keep an open mind on JT as Roman, and I do tolerate him better than I used to (though I still dislike him going after John's woman even if it is his job!), but I prefer JT as Chris too. I genuinely liked him as Chris. He just seems a waste as Roman to me, probably because of the lack of story. Now if Drake were Roman and John, he could have both Kate and Marlena! I'd be double happy! If Drake weren't leaving altogether. /cry...

Starting at 1:45 - 2:55, Drake's voice gets MUCH more low-key, and his inflections and verbal rhythm is MUCH more evenly paced. To me it's very reminiscent of Wayne Northrop's speech patterns as Roman Brady. Nicely done, but I'm wondering if it was intentional, or just a "happy accident" ?

I said the dream thing wouldnt work. Just an interesting idea. And as for Chris, plastic surgery? I just despise this Roman so much, I would have preferred that Roman disappeared off the face of the Earth when he left after Belle was born. JT's Roman drives me cookoo.

I know, and I love John too. His Roman was just so loveable. He had family who loved him, and he loved back. It was just different, but I really wouldn't change a thing about what happened. I'd just turn him back now and have him replace JT.
