Mk2 Punto - Squeeky New Rear Suspension!!
Installed a lowering kit on the car but SQUEEK SQUEEK SQUEEK from the rear driving me nuts i believe i have dual rated springs on the rear to, anybody help ...
Thanks for that. It was cut to the bolt size. You mention a washer on top
of the bush in your description which I couldn't find. There's a cup washer
on the bottom but nothing on top of either bush. I take it all the washer
is doing is preventing the subframe from coming into contact with the
bottom of the chassis? I have since fitted a thinner rubber washer and
managed to get hold of a decent bit of thread on the bolt. I'll modify the
thick washer once I get new bolts. Are they M12?
You don't mention how you get the bolt to fit with the extra rubber washer
in place. I just tried to do this and because the tip of the bolt has part
of the thread removed it stripped the thread off the end of the bolt. I was
forced to fit a thinner rubber washer which isn't ideal and wont last as
long. I am in the process of sourcing a new 5mm longer bolt but I just need
to make sure of the size. It looks loke M11 1.25 but pretty sure it must be
M12.
I just wanted to ask what dimensions the rubber doughnut has to be? I've
got hold of a piece of conveyor belt rubber but need to get the hole saw to
cut them.I have a poor history with Stanley knives and the scars to prove
it so wanted to cut them neatly with a hole saw.
Hi Ian if you measured the gap on top of the bush and cut the washer to the
correct hole size the rubber should just take up the play the hole must
have been cut to just the bolt size it needs to be as big as the fertile on
the bush kind regards frank
Over happy today as followed this chaps advice. Works a treat. Well done
that man. Anyone any advice on the front end that's still making the
horrible noise when going over bumps.
Brilliant, I did this about 11,000 miles ago using a doughnut out of an old
m&s tyre. Found your video yesterday and the repair looks spookily
identical.
