thanks so much for bringing up the LCV! I wanted to discuss that on the radio show today, but my endurance wasn't up to snuff tonight, and I gave up after 30 minutes' attempt for calling in. For the record, I used to work for them, and understand their cautious, meticulous approach to supporting & running campaigns. I also give them total props for painstakingly following the stipulations of campaign finance law, and impressing that upon any & all employees they take on---ultimately, it's a squeaky-clean place with set goals and strategies for achieving them. All the same, I was rather disappointed to see that fear of Republicans (who are decidedly worse than the weekly collection from a Moscow public toilet, to be fair, on environmental protection), and general fear of the unknown made them buckle so early on, and so completely within the parameters of this race. I can't claim to know what's going on in Gene's mind these days, but sure hope the Will of the People---arguably the strongest force for environmental security long term--make some lasting resonance and influence his decisions. With baited breath and crossed fingers, I wait...
