We were stuck in the woods with a flat tire, no tools other than the single tire iron, we used that and it stripped the nut, rounded it off. Unable to get it off we resort ...
My Scenario: 2000 Kia Sephia Right Rear Strut Replacement.Saturday Morning
7:00am 17°F outside. RUSTY POS!!!! I tried the loose lugs on the wheel and
took it 50 yards down the road. ( No Dice ) I took the lugs off the tire in
a parking lot and did donuts with the car. ( Nota ) I took the car back
home and parked it. Jacked it up. Put my Floor Jacks under it and beat on
it with a Sledgehammer. ( OH FFS!!!! ) I came in the house and had a cup of
coffee. Relaxed for about 30 mins. Turned on YouTube to see anyone else
might have some more ideas other than what I already tried. I came across
your method and was like: Oh hell...I can do that!!!
So, I went out and measured my wheel base and got my wood cut to length for
what I needed and put the contraption together. I jacked the cheapo thing
apart and put pressure between the 2 rims. Still nothing. HOWEVER: I got
out from under the car and went out to the tire and was so pissed off I
kicked the tire with the heel of my boot and guess what?? THE FUCKING THING
CAME OFF!!! LMFAO!!!!!
So Kudos to you and your method. I give you a serious 10 Stars for this
method. Because it was the only thing worked for me. Absolute GENIUS!!!
Interesting thought. I would be concerned about the jack denting the wheel
well with the force I had on it. But it might work if there was space. Let
me know as it would be simpler.
Great idea I wonder if I could the same thing with straps?
How to remove a stuck wheel & quick channel update
Here is one method I've used to remove stuck wheels in the past. I tried lowering the car onto the wheel with the lug nuts removed, but the wheel held tight.
