Your ideas and information has helped me. Thank you.
I just finished repairing an A1342 MacBook DVD. I had successfully burnt a
OS X Yosemite ISO DVD, and I proceeded to reboot to test it. The Mac Book
would not see the DVD. I decided to try to eject the DVD and try another
DVD burn. Well it would not eject. I could see the very tip of it like it
was trying to come out. It was adventure taking out the DVD drive. Once
the DVD drive was out of the MacBook, I found a very thin piece of plastic
that was like a separator between DVD media. I remember seeing that in the
pack of DVD that I had previously opened before burning the DVD, and I
thought I had thrown it away. Apparently static electricity had it clinging
to the top DVD media that I had burnt. Well during the ejection cycle it
was enough to jam it, even though it is very thin. Why on Earth would the
DVD media manufacturers put that in with the new DVD media is beyond me.
Geez Louise! I only ost one screw as well. lol
Stupid fucking companies! All they would have to do is add a small access
port to the drive so you could reach in and physically push the god-damned
stuck DVD out while in eject mode. I guess that would be too easy and rob
their repair centers of extra money. I've had a DVD stuck in my Stupid
Drive for three years. There's no way, short of disassembly,to get it out
due to how to tiny the fucking access area is.
I have an HP Touchsmart 300. I have a CD in the slot drive. Could not get
it out. I put my Dave and Busters card in the slot. The card got stuck in
the drive with the CD. Will this video help me solve my problem
ok yu kno what a psp disc looks like without that white case thingy around
it it looks like a small disc so anyway a toddler happen to find it lying
in my room so he put it inside my ps3 without me knowing so I put my ps3
dis in the ps3 and the disc wasn't being read so for like 2 or 3 months the
ps3 wasn't reading disc so I shook it up and down and listened to it it
sounded as if something was loose so I shook it some more and the tip of
the psp disc came out a little then I pulled it out
something like kes-aa1000 for a model model number i found the best prices
on them on a site called games parts warehouse (around like 35 dollars) or
you can try amazon or ebay dont go to any repair place they just rip you
off taking apart your ps3 isnt hard just be patient and take it slow watch
videos on you tube is how i did it i feel for anybody losing there ps3 so
much money and time invested hope this helps oh if you have the money you
can just buy a whole new blu ray drive it
Doesnt matter if you kept in mint conditions the laser is a wear and tear
item it will eventually go out from excessive play just like mine did last
night. was playing then all of a sudden it froze so i held the power button
to reset it,then i hit the eject button beeped like 3 times and turn of
then i turned it back on and it wouldnt reconize the disc, did a safe boot
and restored system files but nothing so now i have to replace the lens on
20$ no biggie.
I got the exact same thing about 3 years ago whilst play CoD5. I sent it to
sony and then 2 weeks later they sent it back, fixed for free and no data
lost, still backwards compatible aswell. But it beoke again yesterday, disc
drive agian only this time it thinks theres a disc in there when theres
not. The blue light won't go away and it won't accept discs :/ It'll be
long outnof warrenty now as it is 4 years old
My PS3 Fat, I just updated the hard drive, and when I got it back the game
would boot up and then go black and nothing else. Cleared the cache and
same thing happen...took it back in and had the tech run a diagnostic...
the disc drive is starting to go bad cost about $125 to replace. Here the
thing i just sunk $125 to upgrade the hard drive... brand new between $250-
300 for a new one.
i turned off the ps3 then i shook the ps3 to see if i could her something
wrong and it turned out my baby cousin put a psp cd in there so every time
i put a ps3 disc in it was reading the psp dic so basicly if your having
that problem the ps3 is reading something other than the p3 disc so yu
might have to open it or unscrew it
I'm having that same problem.... It won't read my discs. It say, for me to
insert a game or restart it? I don't want to replace it again. I have to
much crap on it to replace it now. -3-' Plus, all the updates. What a pain
in the tail-hole. Anyway, any advise on what to do? I clean it and still
doing the same thing.
The problem i have is that the only game that does not work is modern
warfare 2 .. the ps3 can read the disc and everything like that but when i
start the game i can only see the intro for like 3 seconds and then it
turns off , not the ps3 , the game turns off ..
the disc read error is your laser is( im sorry to say same thing happen to
me) dead you need to take your ps3 apart and see what laser you have by
model number there are some ps3s with double lasers and some with single.
dont quote me but it will say kes aaa 100
I am haveing a similar problem, My playstation wont show up but sometimes
it dose and when i try to open it it says "Error" "try to clean off youre
disc or put a new disc in" "if none of these options work please notify an
expert"
the only thing i can tell iss the disc reader or hard drive is reading
something other than the disc for instance mine did not work becuz my baby
cousin slip a psp disc in and i shook it up and down to get it out and now
it works
Yea same problem , my solution is to tell everyone to leave the ps3 alone
for a night up until you want to play but if that didn't work , I'd say
start buying games from PSN Lastly : Get A new PS3
its only two cables to take off on put on, oh another thing if your going
just the laser route buy the laser and the laser mount a littler easier
than messing with a tiny laser sorry for being so jumbled
if your tv is connected by hdmi all you want to do is turn your ps3 off,
press and hold the power button approx 5 seconds and redo your hdmi it
automatically found my hdmi and now I can play
I try to play lbp2 but then when it starts it keeps saying install I did it
like 20 times but it always turns off the ps3 but when I do it again it's
the same thing HELP PLS
I was playing Modern warfare at the moment turnt it off turnt back on so i
can play a hour later it wasn't reading the disk i cleaned it did
everything its not working

tilting the system up while putting a disc in is a temporary fix for the
problem
(wii) - How To Fix Wii Disc Read Error - By David R Patton
This video shows you a *how to do it yourself* Approach to cleaning the eye on your wii. You can buy a disc cleaning kit. But I would recommend to do ...
Very interesting. I've had a Wii that, one day, out of nowhere, decided to
no longer work. Wouldn't accept any disks, spat out a disk read error every
time. No matter how long I waited or which disk I tried, it failed. I can't
send it into Nintendo because I installed homebrew on it, and I couldn't
open it up. I even bought a new one, but now my sister took it and I don't
foresee her ever returning it. This gives me hope again. I'm going to try
this and see what happens.
I bought my wii with my own money I worked hard for .. I didn't get to play
as much because I was moving houses so I had to put all my gaming consoles
in storage where it's over 100 degrees in Phoenix after about three weeks I
moved into my new house and got my gaming consoles and now my wii doesn't
want to read the disk also it's acting a bit slow when I click on a channel
this sucks ass ... Hopefully this will work ^.^
I tried this but it didnt work sadly:( can someone help me please? I've
been trying to play mario carts and it works fine on yoshie falls and do
summit and a bunch of other ones but luigies circuit and and another one
that I forgot the name of it will go up until its time to race! I've
cleaned my disk and everything and tried this and let it dry for 2 hours
and it still dont work!!:( someone help me please!!!!!!!
This video shows the reason for the noise that some Nintendo Wii units make while the game disc is spinning and a possible fix for the problem. You will need to ...
I think that people who mount their wii vertically get the buzzing noise in
that area because the weight of the disk and the spinner put the most
stress on that spot. I played around with that stupid bracket adjusting it
till finally I was able to bend the the metal areas that are in direct
contact with the white spinner out of the way. Either way I hate having to
take apart these expensive systems. This was a really cheap part they could
have made better.
Yes, you can bend those pieces but that is a rigged way to fix it. The disc
drive is unlevel due to use. How to fix: Remove the disc drive, and adjust
the 3 screws that hold the spindle motor in the disc drive. The spindle
motor is what spins the disc and the 3 screws are T6 electronics screws.
keep the disc drive plugged in with a disc spinning and adjust the screws
until the noise stops. This way you are not BENDING any parts and calling
it a fix.
Can anyone help me with my wii it keeps making a clicking noise it reads
the game at the disc channel but when i go through gameplay it messes up at
random times the sound goes off and then its start like a clicking sound
then it says error has occured so can someone pleasehelp me do u think i
well need a repair or the disk cleaing kit i had my wii for 3 yrs it might
need the cleaing kit so can someone plz!!!!! answer!!!! thx ^^
The spinning plastic pieces wears down over time and you have to readjust
the metal tabs so that it doesn't rub. If you took it to Nintendo they'd
probably just replace that entire piece. It's not really "that triangle
piece" but it's the center of that piece that holds the spinner in place
that's causing all that noise. If you apply light pressure to that area it
will eliminate the noise altogether.
well my recomendation if you do not want to open up your wii (me), softmod
your wii using one of the famous guides on wiihacks.com then buy a
harddrive and use that to boot up all your games (i am not promoting
pirating; if you only create backup copies on your harddrive with the games
that you own on disc then this should not be illegal........ in some
countries at least)
@WhoTNT I put a disk in my wii, and it barely gets in. It makes a noise but
much louder than yours. When it accepts it doesn't even load the disc it
says " Please insert a disc." I don't know what to do, I think maybe it
fell or my little brother put a disc in, and while it was accepting it, he
yanked it out before it went in. I really don't know, I just need it fixed.
actually that metal piece works like a spring, if you take the two screws
out that hold it and remove it so you can bend it back into place it will
eliminate the noise. Never leave the disc in the console when not in use,
that is what wears the piece out so it has not enough pressure pushing down
on the disc and you get the noise.
Damn~ My Wii wasn't able to read discs because of this. It was putting so
much pressure on the plastic piece it was preventing the disc from
spinning, causing it to slow down and stick. Not to mention it sounded like
a chainsaw. Now it finally boots games and sounds uber quiet. Thanks!
The part that makes the noise is the metal arms that leave the center
circular disc. The arms touch the white plastic below it and bending the
triangular piece downwards (or putting the paper below it) causes the arm
to raise a little.
Just did it and it works great! I didn't bend anything I just wedged a
small piece of printer paper between the metal triangles and loosened the
screw on the corner of the disk drive. My Wii still reads disks properly.
Thanks
My wii doesn't make that sound it makes a weird clicking sound like you
know it's not suppose to make that sound then I got the error message on my
tv so I'm sending it to nintendo fuck trying to fix alone
Thank you!!! ...you're my hero! :) Without this tutorial I would play
Skyward Sword and instead of hearing the orchestrated music I would hear
the god damn Wii noise! lol... You're the best! :)
@TheLingaling I'm sorry if YOU really killed your wii but read the previous
success stories in the comments and figure out what killed your wii. Videos
don't kill wii's people kill wii's ;)
In my case the problem turned out to be the lower metal piece. (the one
which the triangle is "floating above") I pushed it downwards with a little
bit of force, and the noise disappeared!
Just a heads up: Some of the screws on the Wii are hidden and the ones
hidden on the bottom side under the rubber feet require the use of a
tri-winged screwdriver size 3.
Yeah it was a bit tough. My tweezers were the scissor type though so that
helped. I would recommend trying the paper between the plates instead of
the bending though.
Arghh help please I was opening the wii drive and a thing that looks like a
spring its like metal and is circle in the middle popped out I don't no
where it goes?
Might I ask, what is that little metal piece responsible vibrating against
or whatever to make that noise? I can't really tell. Its hitting that strip
above it?
my wii can¨t read games, the noise when you put the disc is clac clac clac
and then stop. often can read the games and this noise of your video
appear, help me
@Stufftough I took a business card and cut a sliver about 1/8" thick, 1
inch long. Folded it in half and wedged it between the two pieces. Worked
like a charm!
My Wii keeps making a skipping sound whenever it tries to read a disc. At
this point I don't know what the problem is. What should I do? What's
causing it?
People, don't bend pieces, disc drive are already cheap hardware and are
very sensitive. Bending the pieces can work but it gradually damages the
drive.
