Are you not taking a big risk driving machine off the trailer? Seems to me that should be the consignees responsibility

If you make the hauler load and unload, he cannot claim any damage to the equipment was done by you, and he is also able to place the load and secure it in the way that works best for him.

i work at a cat dealer and we have a policy that the truck drivers are the only people who load and unload the machine. most all dealers do.

+Eric S It is a smart trailer for carrying asphalt milling machines. It seems the part over the wheels can also be used as loading platform.
