Who's the fastest grocery getter?! CTSV vs C63 vs CTS Vsport
2 Detroit brawlers battle it out with a German panzer!
+Mike Cronis I think you need to watch the video again. I listed the fuel economy in ALL situations we drove, charged battery only, battery and gas, and gas only non charged. Just because the battery was discharged later in the test doesn't mean much.I charged it once--got the readings--didn't want to take the time to do it again. The figures would have been the same even if I had charged it 10 times, so I don't see your complaint. I didn't need to have it charged for that segment--it would tie up the car for 8 hours, and I had places to go. A good reason not to buy one, which is I would take the other Cadillac CTS turbo at $25,000 less and use the money I saved to pay the gas bill for the next 6 years, a bottle of good Saki, and some lose women to help me drink it--and still have money left over.If you are interested in buying this ELR I think Cadillac sold a whopping 200 that year. I bet you could find one REAL CHEAP!
ELR is way overpriced. GM has to be making money on them at more than
double the price of a Volt. I mean, how do you get +35,000 in incremental
costs on this car??? There is just no way it is possible. Many of the
components are shared. So, it comes down to interior differences, which are
incremental costs over the Volt.
Come on Rob--you know ya want one! With 6% interest only $20,000 down and $1,000 a month for 72 months and you save $100 a month in gas over the CTS Turbo!
I'm a big fan of most of GM's recent work as they really seem to have
turned the corner. But I must say, Jesus Christ! The ELR may be the most
overpriced vechile on the market. At 81 grand, it makes the CTS seem like a
steal at just over 60k. Might as well just lop on another 10 grand or so
and get into a Tesla Model S. Then you'll have more room than the CTS and
better economy and green cred than the ELR. I can't believe that the ELR,
which is a reskinned Volt, is more expensive than that Mercedes wagon from
last week. Facepalm!
Well I just drive-um and let the buyers sort them out. For $81 grand I do think I would take the CTS-V, and with the money left over, get a used jeep, bottle of Jack, and a hooker!!
Just for the record, if you bought an ELR and drive it ONLY on electricity,
you would have to drive it 91,500 miles to make up the $20,000 difference
between it and the CTS even calculating the CTS at a measly 16 MPG. To
reach that many miles on electricity alone, even using a full charge every
day, it would take about eight and a half years, and that is with very
generous math on the ELR's behalf. In conclusion, anyone who spends $80,000
on a car probably wont keep it for over 8 years, so what is the point?
+chad haire Dealer would probably only give me 3,000 for my car. It's worth a whole lot more to me, I abuse that poor car everywhere I go and it takes it like a champ! Wouldn't dream of doing some of the things I do in a newer car.
If there is one thing I am not surprised about coming from GM, and that is
poorly designed, and cheaply built interiors. I know they are getting
better, so how does the CTS compare to a $60,000, say Lexus? I know at the
$25,000 price range Chevy was in my opinion, still the worst, with Mazda at
the top. (Just prodding around cars at a car show) What do you think?
