@DLarson1083. They never made it to F1? Are you try to play your own word??
I guest so. Malaysia may not have a good driver, but Malaysia was one of
the country that still contribute to F1. This team ( CATERHAM F1) are from
1Malaysia sdn. bhd ( the MAIN OWNER ). and backed by Malaysian money.. same
as Petronas and Lotus Team.. We may not have good quality driver, but we
still can use proper LANGUAGE, even you use such 'good' word representing
my country.. Have nice day my friend :)
yeap, somehow Proton's quality is shite. coz to maintain low price, dont
compare to toyota or honda coz they already hv their own technologies, but
proton not really. they must buy the tech, which will make the price
higher. to make a new tech is costly, n if it imitate others car, they'll
sue proton's arse.. me as malaysian, just patiently wait till we really
good in term tech n quality.. i like pesona thou..cheap n somehow worth ur
Ringgit..hehe=P
lol ALL Proton models were Lotus engineered (suspension systems only).. my
friend's Satria Neo CPS smoked Evo's and Type-R's in an autocross, his time
is half a second behind an Elise. the only problem with Proton is their
quality control lol interior is a bit plasticky (they should use rubberised
plastics xD..cheap plastics also used in Elises if I remember correctly lol
they were fuckin lightweight)
hmm im not sure about beating evos...when it comes to handling, and power u
cant beat them...and yea proton quality is shite...i think that if the
europa (not evora, sry) was badged a proton from the start, it wouldnt have
mattered...and yea lotus isnt exactly renound for its quality either i
think that they should scrap the europa and make a more powerful version of
the evora...it looks amazing
lol ur nuts? Proton also do stuff for Lotus.. the Lotus Europa S were
mostly designed and developed by Proton engineers/designers under codename
Project Sepang.. (but they used Toyota and GM Ecotec engines for their car
since Proton-Lotus Campro/CPS engines were not perfected yet) and without
Proton, Lotus would've bankrupt, no new Elise,no Exige, no Europa S, no
Evora, no return of Lotus F1.
Pride of Malaysia and to all those ppl saying this team sucks just cz it
dosnt have a win, u obviously don't know the complexity of the sport of F1.
In F1 a new team having more than 1 finish in w/e position is considered a
win. This team just debuted and it's finished all but 2 races, that is
something that even Ferrari could not do when it first came out, it only
finished about 2 races!
yea I admit that the engine used in Evora is a bit shit though. They don't
rev hard like other models. Lotus should put a supercharger or twin turbo's
lol (or make a 3.0/turbo/supercharge version of the high revving Proton
220hp+ 2.2 V6 prototype lol i saw it in an exhibition inside Proton's
Tanjung Malim factory..wonder for what model will they use the engine :D)
For me - you can't call yourself a Malaysian Lotus team. It makes more
sense in my mind the team that the factory bought into (Lotus - Renault) is
carrying the racing legacy of the old Team Lotus. TF can pay as much money
as he wants on a name at the end of the day thats all he has.
yea it excels only in handling..but just wait till the CPS Turbo engine
comes out.. hey they still need to make the Elise and Europa S lol not
everyone has big pockets to buy Evora. (the future Elise should use CPS
Turbo engines and make it rev higher lol)
@kyuzo555 Old Lotus team was operated by Lotus Cars, but at the end of his
history was independent to Lotus Cars. New Lotus team is operated by Lotus
Cars, but nowdays Lotus Cars have malaysian capital, not british.
yeah...but the evora was shit! but true about the fact they were
bankrupt...just a shame its proton that bought them...now they con people
into believing all of their cars were "lotus engineered"
i hate to be one of those weird people who keep asking "what's that song
called?" but i serisouly think that track is epic so if anyone has an idea
i'd appreciate it if they let me know
Currently, Lotus Cars (cars manufacturers) is owned by Proton, a Malaysian
company. The new Lotus F1 team has been established by Proton and other
Malaysian investors.
Got the best chance of being sucsesful out of the new teams with kovalainen
and truili its quite a nice set up. Im definitely keeping my eyes on this
team.
wonderful Lotus are back.. can Trulli or Kovi win a podium for them this
season? difficult but hope they can do it. goodluck to Mike & the boys at
Lotus
Yeah. Considering they've done things like front-exit exhaust in the past,
I was expecting them to maybe take a little more of a risk. Then again, the
E20 was a good car, so maybe incremental steps are better at this point.
The nose isn't banned. Teams can decide if they use modesty panel in their
cars or not. And Lotus' technical director James Allison said that they
will add a modesty panel if it's aerodynamic enough.
I think that they might add the DRD at the test and maybe some wing tweaks
but thats about it. I get where you are coming from though, Lotus usually
has some cool new things on their cars
I really did not like how they shot this. Blurry, hard to actually see the
dimensions of the car. Hard to see where things are located, hard to see
details.
