The sad demise of online commenting: Salutin
The democratization of media is a good idea. Too bad we're not ready for it.
I recently went back to becoming a security gaurd as of 2012 in
toronto, iwas a security guard from2006-2009then I went back to university
full time in 2010 in toronto so,now the new legislation dictates that
anyone who wishes to be a security gaurd must take a mandatory40 hours
course from any accredited facility andthen you mustpass the government
administration test toprove thtuno the cdnlaws cpr/1st aid techniques n cdn
charter,arrest procedures,emergency procedures ie bomb threats,fights,etc
The sad thing is that (before the new regulations came into force)
licensing was that easy, but by comparison it's MUCH easier to get fired or
for the province to take your licence away if you sneeze. If you were a cop
however, ie "2 Sarnia Cops Convicted in Home Invasion" (only temporarily
demoted, but still cops) or St. Thomas where "Admitted Party-Girl Pot
Smoking Cop Gets Demoted", Toronto where "Drug (etc) charges against
Officers are Dismissed"... on and on... Criminal Cops keep their job
@SASmith133 That is exactly how I have been feeling as well. Security is
underestimated, underprivileged, and under appreciated. I wanted to be a
cop before I became a security "guard" and honestly, now all i can say is
when can I get the hell out of this city?! Half the police force completely
disrespects us without knowing if we are one of "good ones" when I'd say at
least a quarter to a half were security guards at one point. Things are
slowly changing but not ina good nor bad way.
@slw154 Here! Here! Remember back in Dec. of 2010 where a Toronto Cop was
caught with a DUI? You heard about it for two days then it was silenced! I
am a Security Guard as well, in the GTA, and after what I saw at the G20...
why do they keep their jobs, yet we can get fired for not wearing a tie???
This whole system is f***ed, I don't think I could be a cop for this
system. It used to be about brotherhood and family and right vs. wrong. Now
it's only about politics....
@graydonrandomz I think the thing is that there is really no age limit on
getting your license. Really as long as you can find a company to hire you
than your good. There is a lot of sites that you honestly just sit at a
desk all day really no labor at all.
@graydonrandomz Hi there graydonrandomz and thanks for your note. Good to
know there's now a week's course. Back when I got my license all I had to
do was fog a mirror! That's the point I was trying to make in this video.
Best wishes and be safe.
@MISSISSAUGAWATCH Hey Im actually interested in becoming a security guard.
doing my classes soon, and am wondering how they got their licenses without
proving they have completed the classes? I thought its mandatory before
applying is it not?
You don't get it? Why don't you ask the Toronto Star reporter to broke this
story why he went up to this same counter and bought HIS Ontario Security
guard license. (He had no intention of being a security guard either).
@OfficerSheepDog Hi there. Yes, nowadays as I understand it you need to
take classes. Back then all I had to do was be vertical to get that
license. That was the point of the video.
