RARE 1990 Ferrari F40 Full Details + Sound!!
A friend of mine and a fellow spotter (tyke570) invited me to an event held at The Italian Village in Chicago. The event was strictly a Ferrari only event. The owner ...
Well, looking at Ferrari of FL a couple weeks ago for fun, they had an F40
and with 2,000 miles on it, it was only 699,000, so not 1.6 mil, I think
that may be the F50 because they only made it for two year a posed to 4 for
the F40, plus less were allotted for the U.S
Lol 1,6 million, if you pay that for a f40 you're getting serious ripped
off. In Belgium their is a f40 for sale for only 280 000,00 € with approved
papers so no accidents, legit etc.

dude, that's the same thing that has happened to me after I did this
review. It doesn't boot up always so you have try it again and again. They
need to fix this. Just wait for an update.
Wow thank you for sharing this with us and letting us hear your story of
owning one of these cars before. I was actually there that day in Sonoma
and have lots of footage from it as well including the series II spin in
turn 8, spin in turn 2, the unfortunate event with #7, and I was actually
the only person who got to film up in the control tower. I'll never forget
the sound they made coming down into turn 11 on the first hot lap, it was
the most beautiful orchestra ever to grace the planet.
I always enjoy your video's and commentary. I have this friend Gabor who
once owned a 250 Scaglietti Series 1 I think, he regrets getting rid of
that car so much as I am sure you do. His stories like Mitchell's are
fascinating to say the least. Thank you for all your postings. Some of the
History surrounding these car is just amazing. The hand full of guys that
owned these street registered cars drove the wheels off them on the
roadways back then.
The price for this model has risen so dramatically since 1980 that many
former owners simply couldn't cover the insurance costs so they had to sell
them or risk getting the car damaged or stolen. Of couse, this has never
been a problem for people like Ralph Lauren and Nick Mason. Good news for
GTO fans: Chris Evans, who recently paid a cool $19m for 4675 doesn't
intend to paint it white! It is currently undergoing an 18 month
restoration.
This and your other footage is a pure pleasure, my fathers friend once took
my to his garage, he'd just sold one GTO but had another, it was the green
Ines Ireland GTO seen in this footage. When speaking to him he told how he
bought these GTO's "for something to go to the pub in". Sadly he's now
passed away and I believe the car was sold by his family. Thanks for the
footage and insight.
@GTO3987 ha, $30m? no problem! lol jk, a beautiful car, if I never get to
own a real one, I will find a game with the 250 GTO in it and make a
simulator that closely resembles the 250 GTO, that means custom built
interior, seats, steering wheel, shifter, pedals, surround sound, and TV
screens as windows to get the ultimate feel lol. I wonder if this car is in
Gran Turismo 5...
I say: let's start mass producing this marvellous car this very instant! We
have the blueprints and the capability to manufacture it, so why the hell
not? A GTO for everyone that wants one; and perhaps we could improve it
slightly - better fuel economy, low emissions etc. I'm quite sure it would
prove to be very popular, even though it's a few decades old by design.
Hey it's a '64 at 2:48! Most beautiful race car? I don't know, there are so
many fine choices from the 50's and 60's; Other Ferraris, the Aston Martin
DB4 and let's not forget the magnicifent Jaguar D. But this one was the
most successful GT racer of its era. And being able to listen to the
unfiltered engine sound everyday is already worth a ton.
I really enjoyed this video, and particularly liked the narration. These
things are not about the object, but about the experience. Thanks for
sharing the experience, and I will subscribe in the hope we might see a
little more. But if not, it was already a pleasure - thanks for sharing.
I sold the car ages ago to help fund a car buying trip to Italy. It never
occurred to me that I wouldn't be able to buy it back as it wasn't easy to
sell. Most of the people who could afford it were older and wanted more
comfortable cars like GTB/GTS/GTC street machines.
Morgan .... Your Pappy was cool ... many moons ago ....... He still has
good taste ..... Thanks a bunch for sharing him with us...... Your Pappy
still is cool... and tell him I said Thanks a Million for his little Gem of
a short film.... BRAVO
Only true Tifosi understand the beauty of this magnificent piece of art.
The jealousy I have for the people fortunate to own and or drive on is
unbeaten by anything in the world. I'd give up everything I have just to
touch one. SF Tifosi
Maintenance costs were always very reasonable and the GTO cost less to keep
than did my Jaguar E-type. Alain de Cadenet was the next owner. I sold the
car to pay for a car buying trip to Italy where I picked up several
interesting cars.
When the 250LM failed to receive homologation, Ferrari had to fall back on
the GTO. They updated the car with the newer bodywork resembling a
front-engined LM and widened the track. It is the GTO64 also referred to as
the Series 2 GTO.
Driving every day the got? Big respect man. A true enthusiast and
definitely you lived a dream of mine. How it felt to own the keys of that
machine? Just to be free to get in every time you wanted? Cheers, James
@wdfowty No offense to you,but I will always refer to that track as Sears
Point,and Mazda as Laguna Seca.Yeah, I know what you're gonna say,but I
would like to keep Facism out of my life...not easy these days.
Not that there aren't already too many replicas of this model flying
around... If my eys don't betray me, at 4:58 there's a silver 400 SA
Aerodinamico that no one seems to notice but that's understandable.
The fastback style is the original Series I GTO. The sailplane style is the
GTO64 also known as the Series II. It was produced as an update when
Ferrari failed to obtain homologation for the 250LM.
I visited my Aunt one day.She worked at a bank on Sunset Blvd.Across the
street was a Ferrari dealership.And there sat a 250 GTO.....I didn't know
this car.....all I knew is that I was in love...
I was at the le mans classic and saw 15 GTOs together two weeks ago. What
an event :). GTO3967 I have posted 3 videos of all the cars on my channel,
I wonder if your old car was at the event.
18 million? psh, i'll own one eventually... well, at least a model of one.
God what I would do to own one of these cars. lol I'd be terrified to drive
it cuz i'd be so scared of damaging it.
There were two GTO64s on the track that day.A D-type featured in R&T was
the first racecar to attract my attention. The Berlinetta Lusso--another
beauty--was my first Ferari.
The GTO documentary has been set aside while Chad Glass and I complete work
on our book, 7500 RPM in Fifth Gear: My Life With GTO #3987. My memoirs and
Chad's illustrations.
Why are they wearing helmets? I mean, if they crash they're just gonna pull
out a gun and blow their brains out anyway. Crash this car and you WILL
die, one way or another
Looking forward to seeing this documentary, one of my favourite cars along
with the Lotus 49 and the Porsche 917. When will it be avaliable and where
can I see it?
Back in the 80s I used to see Nick Mason of Pink Floyd going for coffee in
Golders Green, London in his Red 250 Gto....reg number 250 GTO...... lucky
bastard!!
