Depends how high or low you set the assist. Having owned the game I can tell you that you can turn the simulation steering off (giving it a arcade feel), turn traction control on, turn stability control on, turn on anti-lock brakes on, hell, you can even make it where it accelerates and brakes for you while it helps you steer if you want. Basically they have those settings for little kids and young children (if you have any) so that they can enjoy the game with you. Conversely, you can turn all of that off, turn the steering to simulation and set the AI to unbeatable, and you get a full on hard as nails racing sim for the real enthusiasts. So yes, Simcade. It tries to cater to all audiences.
