Its definitely impressive, but Im strained to think of real world scenarios
where the actuator thingies are a natural evolution of current technology
rather than just a forced "because its cool" gimmick.

Regarding solving disability issues, I really don't like the use of
technology and prosthetics in that field. IMHO regeneration would be a much
better idea, for a long list of reasons. Still, as long as it makes this
research continue, and keeps the money coming, amen.
