I really wish people wouldn't refer to the NSDAP as "Nazis". National
SOCIALIST German Workers Party, leftists. But somehow they get portrayed as
right wing and part of that is because people think they were called Nazis,
but they NEVER called themselves Nazis. Nazi was/is a bastardization of the
first word of the NSDAP in German. If we referred to them by their proper
name, EVERYONE would notice the word socialist right in the middle of their
names, not to mention all of the socialist policies of the NSDAP.
+susanne petre You confuse/wrongly combine socialism and communism. The latter is as evil as Nazism was, and, as you said, was very similar to Nazism in termsof approach and end result. But socialism, in its usual form, is basically the people of a state having government-funded social programs for the benefit of all (eg, healthcare, education); the more social programs you have in place, the more you are taxed and the more "socialist" your society becomes. The Scandinavians are champions in this regard; that doesn't make them communist, far from it.
That's not true at all (except for "Nazi" being a contraction of "Nazionalsocialistische"). Socialism by definition is international and collective, ie, everyone is equal ina socialist world, without distinction for class, nationality or race. National Socialism, on the other hand, was fiercely nationalistic (as the Nazis demonstrated) and were focused on making Germany predominant over everyone else - hardly what Marx and Engels had in mind.
"Left wing" is a RELATIVE term, which is purely nominal to proclaimed intentions vs. actual outcomes. One would be hard-pressed to claim that Hitler was more populist than Stalin, regardless of what each proclaimed at the outset in terms of aristocratic vs. common-based; they came out about even; and for the simple reason there's no such thing as a benevolent dictator. Thus, real right-wing government is a fairly lone term which pertains to REAL democracy, vs. the faux versions we've witnessed. Real democracy would be that which ratified the original American Constitution, i.e. where the People wielded power superior to their government-- vs. subordinate to, and limited by.
Great point, but I think this isn't by accident, it's by design. Since before the mid 1800's, there have been domestic elements sympathetic to the collectivist ideal. Socialists are inherently magnetized to positions of power or influence (control), and through devices like academia, media, entertainment, and ultimately public office, they have forged a view on the atrocities of the 1900's that is softer on the communists than the fascists (the illusory right/left paradigm) for the sake of damage control of the socialist brand. The only true measure in politics is freedom vs. Statism.
Republicans are traditionally the party of war? Democrats were in charge
at the starts of WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam. The only major conflicts in
the last century you can hang squarely on Republicans are
Iraq/Afghanistan. Lets face it. Both parties are the parties of war they
just use different justifications.
Yes, I found this statement strange as well. I was under the impression that the Democrats of the 20th century were generally the warmongers while the Republicans were being derided as "isolationists" and that this lasted until the recent neo-con takeover of the Republican Party.
This notion that Serbian state wanted to destroy Austria and asked for war
is very peculiar to me (and I am from ex-Yugoslavia). I think it was quite
unfeasible at the time.
Serbia in 1912-13 just got out of regional war with Ottoman empire and
immediately afterwords with Bulgaria.
Yes, the assassins were in Serbia for brief period, but there is no info.
to suggest that they were ordered by Serbian state to assassinate
Ferdinand. Moreover they were in contact with kind of rogue
intelligence-colonel who participated in assassination of Serbian king and
overthrow of dynasty (in1903.). That colonel, Apis and three comrades were
executed by firing squad in 1917., by the Serbian state. Allegedly, as
condemned men were driven to their execution, Apis remarked to the driver
"Now it is clear to me and clear to you too, that I am to be killed today
by Serbian rifles solely because I organized the Sarajevo outrage."
In WWI 58% of the regular Serbian Army (420,000 strong) perished during the
conflict. The total number of casualties is placed around 1,100,000. 25% of
Serbia's prewar size, and an absolute majority (57%) of its overall male
population, and there were plus 133,148 wounded. The number of civilian
deaths is estimated by some sources at 650,000.
+zg76 Go read "Sleepwalkers", it is clear that Serbia was operating with the support of Russia, otherwise it is impossible to understand why a small country would have such an aggressive and offensive stance towards a great power. It would take a very stupid person to buy that "rogue official" argument, if that was the case a government could always claim they didnt order anything, it was a "rogue", but since Serbia had sponsored assassinations and partisan movements in Turkey and was doing the same then in Austria such BS fell flat.Of course, the countries sponsoring such behavior or expecting to profit from it pretended to buy it and went along with it, but its a hundred years later, if you have a brain you cant buy that crap.

Wilson's official response to the "Birth of A Nation," movie was, "It was
an unfortunate production and I wish it had never been made." So, no,
Wilson is not like Hitler...not even close. Do your research. His policies
mimicked Roosevelt's; TR spearheaded the progressive movements. Also,
Germany had been warned many times about the attacks on U.K./U.S. civilian
ships and cargo. After the sinking of Lusitania and her passengers of
1,924, Wilson had no choice but to kick some royal German butts.
@ablair812 Dude that is seriously very rude. Do you have any idea what you
just implied? How dare you insult someone like that, I really want to punch
you in the fa...ok ok, I was joking, but I am serious about your insult. Do
you know how stupid you have to be to take Beck seriously. He has said many
times, he is NOT a jounalist or reporter, he is a 'Entertainer", as soon as
he said that you would be fool to accept his BS as facts. Beck and Rush
have divided our nation exponentially off lies
He had good ideals about democracy and peace, but the way he acted upon
them was often corrupt. He invaded Haiti in 1915, killing thousands and
oppressing the people, in the name of corporate interests. He wanted to
force democracy onto nations all over the world, whether the people be
willing or unwilling. Government cannot stand unless it is supported by the
people. He used his idealistic image to justify corruption. He acted, as
virtually all presidents do, on nationalistic self-interest.
To you idiots, Wilson was also the one that tried to warn Britain and
France to not punish Germany harshly after the first World War but Britain
and France ignored it and chose to punish Germany for the damages done in
WW1 and reclaim colonies. This action led to rise of Hitler and led to
another World War. Wilson was right. He called for reconciliation of
Germany not punish them. He was right. The UK and France should have
listened to him. Seems like Europeans never know when to make peace.
@shadowwbn Beck backs up nearly everything he says...Why would he go out of
his way to say (AND PROVE) these things about Wilson when it happened
nearly 100 years ago? Its not only to teach Americans the history that
hasn't been taught, but to let Americans recognize its relevance to what is
happening in this country today. (Again, if you watch Beck, he backs it up.
There is substance.) Yes, his passion is entertaining, but he is a
commentator (not a journalist) who backs up his opinions.
He has described 90 years ago exactly whats happening right now and people
totally deny it when they hear that the govt has been hijacked. Willson
admitted he screwed up. Thats very admirable . Lets see what Obama does.
Then again don't forget Willson even said that taking either left or right
does not make a difference. The Presidency is all theatrics . There is a
small group of men in $5000 suits telling the president whats up. Oh and
the media is calling Obama a legend. WHAT?
What is this propaganda! Wilson writings regularly trashed the American
founders, Declaration of Independence, and our Constitution. He introduced
wildly progressive and radical policies which infected America with the
cancer of Progressivism which trashes liberty and freedom. Wilson was also
a eugenicist and racist. He was a horrible president and an evil SOB. Do
your homework on him people. By the way, Teddy Roosevelt believed in many
of Wilson's progressive policies as well.
@ablair812 I didnt say he was 100% worthless liar. I simply said he does
lie whenever its the only way to make his point. As for watching his show,
I used to, in fact my primary news corp. was Fox until these video/audio
editing, skew facts like how many people were there protesting against
Obama. This plus Becks critisizers Look, I stop watching and lost all
respect for him. He was called out on an issue and he said Entertainer
+Ardis Cani "Why are history textbooks so bad? Nationalism is one of the
culprits. Textbooks are often muddled by the conflicting desires to promote
inquiry and to indoctrinate blind patriotism." ~ James Loewen
Read Lies My Teacher Told Me. The worst way to learn about American
history is by an American history textbook. I'm sure he did good things
but he also did not-so-good things.
Wilson actually was against those same people. The federal reserve was a
progressive reform, which regulated the banks, and hold them back. However,
the federal reserve can be used to help banks depending on the president.
It was the ideas of harding, coolidge, and reagan that destroyed our
economy.
@CSATexan it's funny how many people forget what a social Darwinist liberal
relativist Wilson was. Not to mention a flaming racist. The only President
that I'm aware of that openly showed "The Birth of a Nation" in the White
House.
I doubt that. If we're still suffering from the damage he did, we've gone a
hundred years without undoing it. It's more like, there were many great
things that occurred during his eight years that we continue to enjoy to
this day.
A couple of major events in 1914 played a big factor in what Wilson's
Presidency actually amounted to. Within several days of each other,
Wilson's 1st wife died from illness and World War 1 began.
I agree with you, and I voted for him! I must admit that so many RP
supporters express extremely simplistic and conspiratorial views. If they
would stop shouting, they might learn something.
by far the shittiest president. espionage and sedition acts were insane and
made him a tyrant. not only this but he unfairly dragged us into WWI while
the German's did nothing to deserve it
@LibertasVideos Among 15 major scholar surveys, Wilson ranks an average of
6th place among our greatest presidents. You must be getting your history
from Glenn Beck.
