Thanks Divena! Also, will pass the feedback into the dogs, I'm sure they'll be flattered.

Brisbane TV 1984 and 1986 (QTQ9 and BTQ7) Queensland Australia
Get a Nine 'Join the Party' showbag at the 1984 Brisbane Ekka - or a channel 9 25th 'silver anniversary' slouch hat. Maybe the helicopter cap! **Seven's 'PM ...
Besides, Extra beat the last bit of local competition it had... But that
Channel 9 showbag looks good, special cards with the newsreaders made
especially for the 25th anniversary, some chips (probably made by Freer's
down the road from the station... oh Freer's why did you go!) and the
slouch hat! I wish both BTQ and QTQ would put that much effort into the big
5-0 like they did in 1984 for the big 2-5...
LOL - thanks, these are definitely 1984 - why? The Nine News promo features
Robynne Parkin (not Heather Foord) with Brice and Rob. Willesee was on air
at that time. The BTQ promo was early Durant - pre-the Wickety Wak and
modernised 'LYB-Its Happening Here" idents. The latter was aired in 86/87,
prior to Skase take-over.
Definitely 1986 - this version of "Love You Brisbane" was only used that
year. Also, Nev was reading news in 1984/85 whilst Frank Warrick was at
QTQ. When Frank returned to BTQ in 1986, this programme was developed as
there were too many on air roles in news presenting at BTQ.
Bit of a mixed "Bag" there. I think the EKKA promo is definately 1984..
love those Showbags !! But the Nine News promo with Bruce, Heather and Rob
has got to be from the late 1980s and likewise the BTQ 7 PM Magazine promo
with Nev might also be late 80s ??
Thanks but I do think the PM Magazine was around 1984 given the shot of
Brisbane showing no Riverside Centre and no Comalco House - just the gold
AMP Tower. LYB went for a number of years - with "Its Happening Here"
finishing off that era. Cheers
Also - note the city scape within the BTQ clip - it is without the Brisbane
Riverside Centre, only the gold AMP Tower dominated the skyline. The
Riverside Centre opened circa 1986. How Brisbane has changed.....
Agreed!!!You couldn't beat the Freers chips (made off Samuel Griffith
Drive). Wow, photocards of Frank Warrick and Don Seccombe - way to go!! You
can see Gibbo of the 'Channel Niners' was into it big time!!
Or could it be from when Brisbane (unsuccessfully) bidded for the 1992
Olympic Games... Imagine, the 1982 Commonwealth Games, Expo 88, and the
1992 Olympics in one decade... What could have been...
Visited that Freers Ffactory at the base of the Mount back in the late
1970s.. They made the BEST Tomato Flavoured Chips of all time.. labelled
"Red Seal". Sadly now goooooone !!
I love the Ekka I have been every year since I was 2 I think so that makes
it about 22 years. Some years I went about 4 or 5 times. No I am not rich
but it's an annual event for me and I will take my kids to the Ekka if/when
I have them.
That's sad. :-/ Sorry to hear that. I'll be going this year and, with all
the changes that are supposed to be happening, it feels like it's going to
be the last one. :-/
we are coming over again this year form nz took my kids two years ago they
loved it and so wanted to go back
