my top ten 10: Colin Baker 9: Matt Smith 8: Sylvester McCoy 7: William Hartnell 6: David Tennent 5: Christopher Eccleston 4: Peter Davison 3: Patrick Troughton 2: Jon Pertwee 1: Tom Baker I have been watching doctor who for 15 years and it has been my fav show since I was 7 I've seen every episode of the show multiple times and I think classic doctor who is far superior to new who and I think most of the "fans" who will place tennant on top are people who have never watched classic doctor who and I dont even really consider them true fans p.s the first episode I ever saw was Terror of the Zygons and my fav episode is Pyramids of Mars

The 10th doctor is not my favorite doctor, but he shouldn't be put at the 9th spot

When you put tennant at 9 I stopped watching. How dare you make him lower on the list then before.

+Nerf Champ Because my opinion of his Doctor has changed and I think he's not as good as I did before. That's how revised lists work.

A very interesting list. Although mine is quite different, everyone has their own opinion. My list would go (best at the top) 1.) Tom Baker 2.) Christopher Eccleston 3.) Jon Pertwee + Peter Capaldi 4.) Colin Baker 5.) Patrick Troughton 6.) Sylvester McCoy 7.) William Hartnell (Have no seen much of, but I really enjoy his 'no nonsense' character) 8.) Matt Smith + David Tennant 9.) Peter Davidson (I found his portrayal much better in his later stories) 10.) Paul McGann (We need more of 8 for TV!)

+John Doel The 4th Doctor is certainly not overrated! Something is only overrated when it doesn't deserve praise that it constantly receives. Sure the 4th Doctor receives lots of praise. but he deserves it. His eccentric personality alone would be enough to make him popular, but his trademark outfit and incredibly well written stories (arguably the best of Doctor Who) makes him loved by lots. Including me.

+John Doel I think some Peter Davidson stories are great, such as the obvious Caves of Androzani. Altohugh not as good, Kinda was still very enjoyable too. However, I only began to become invested with 5 during his later episodes.

+LesserWhovian For a second I wondered why this was a top 10 list amd then I noticed how two places shared the same Doctor. I don't know why you've put Davidson so low, but I agree with number 3.
