When I reviewed American coke a few months ago I said I wanted to try the Mexican version which is made with real sugar instead of High Fructose Corn Syrup.
Here goes why Mexican Coke is made with sugar: Back in the 50's and 60's
American Coke, as well as the other Cokes from around the world was made
also with sugar. Sugar was primarily imported from Mexico and Cuba... then,
the Cuban Missile crisis happened and the USA and the rest of the world
needed to come up with something different to make Coke: Corn Syrup. Coca
Cola discovered it was cheaper so they switched. Nevertheless Mexico didn't
cause we still grow sugar cane in large quantity.
Good review. Coke also uses real sugar in Canada now, although they've
downgraded it to a Sugar/Glucose-Fructose Blend in the last couple
years(Glucose-Fructose being the Canadian name for HFCS). I brought home
some American Coke a couple months back, and found there was such a
difference in taste - that syrupyness you described as well as the unclean
finish that I didn't like it. Same goes for Pepsi vs Pepsi Throwback, I
hate Pepsi, but I'll buy the Throwback. Real Sugar FTW.
Mexican Coca Cola taste different from state to state,The one you are
drinking is made in Monterrey ,Nuevo Leon ,Mexico (the wealthiest zone of
mexico)...and has the worst taste in mexico either...U should try the ones
made in Tijuana and Mexicali..those are the BEST of the whole
country..believe me \trully addictive....The same happens with PEPSI...in
some states ,pepsi overrides Coca Cola in taste preference..
Pretty soon soft drink companies are going to have to abandon HFCS. The
consumer is getting smarter and smarter everyday. I can get Mexican Coke in
almost ANY store, and it's my go-to Coke product. I also enjoy Hansen's
which also uses real sugar. If I buy Pepsi (my favorite) I usually grab a
Mexican Pepsi, which we get here in California.
I had my first Coca Cola from Mexico.... Made with Cane Sugar and not High
Fructose Corn Syrup... I have to say I can honestly not taste any
difference. Kind of dissapointed. I alway hear how much better the Mexican
or Cane Sugar Coke is, but I don't taste it. :( I did notice that you don't
get that burn.
This Coke taste how coke is supposed to taste. It is 100 percent better
than coke with HFCS. Ever since soda companies switch over to HFCS they
ruined the taste of sodas. Like you read its bottled in ATL. Pepsi
throwback still doesn't tast like it used to before they changed over.
I like Mexican coke better...we sell it in the liqour store i work at.
actually, you can get it most places here in Texas. Definanly more fizzy
and not as sweet. It just taste so much cleaner...must be the glass bottle
it comes in. Great review, bro.
I said where in the video. I suggest you watch again and pay closer
attention. Then I want a 500 word essay on why it's important to pay
attention to detail. I'll expect it on my desk by Monday.
Its really hard to find coke in those glass bottles here in new
york....they mainly sell the plastic bottles and metal cans, i truly
believe that coke tastes best in the glass bottles..
the ones i buy dont have HFCS listed and if the "sugar" content is 40% HFCS
then i would think by FDA rules it would be listed on the American
ingedient (aftermarket sticker) label?
@connecticut36 are you saying america is the only place that uses corn
syrup? actually, mexico is one of the only places that still uses real
sugar anymore dumbass
it's better in fridge when taste not good when it's hot.
