Your tire size comes out to about 27.85" tall. Are you pretty close to
rubbing the perch or fenders? I'm thinking about attempting a 205/75R16
which is about a quarter inch taller than your tire at 28.1". Of course
both of these numbers are calculated and manufacturer measurements vary,
but I'm just curious what you forester forum folks think. I'm a Toyota
Pickup guy so ground clearance and oversized tires are a must :D
@disorderlyconduct97 Yeah? The Forester XT has the same turbo engine as the
newer WRX's, has tons more space, better weight distribution, and more
clearance. A Forester can be made into whatever kind of vehicle you need,
track car, rally car, or even a mild off-road rig.
@LoveMyZJ Thanks. Mod wise, I just have the Rola Roof Basket, and Rally
Innovations front light bar with some rectangular mounted lamps (I have
round ones on it now), as well as oversized 215/70 R16 All-Terrain
BFGoodrich Tires. (stock size is 215/60 R16)
@MrMrPaparazzi I take pride in pushing the Forester to its limits. Most
people don't take their Subaru's into Jeep territory, but I prefer to take
vehicles into places they weren't designed for. It makes it challenging and
rewarding.
i had my impreza floating in a huge mud pit pond at a mud fest i needed to
be pulled back out but i drove it home without any issues the water was up
to the top of the hood.so your comment is invalid id kept running never
died once
I have been tossing around the purchase of a Forester vs MANY OTHERS for a
bit now. Your videos have really impacted my buying decision! Going with
the Fozy... an 06. By the way, your videos rock and hope to see more!
Your air inlet is right behind the passenger headlamp. If your engine was
running and the "water" was as deep as you say, then the engine either
ingested water, or you weren't as deep as you thought.
@BeingHimself Dona Ana Mountains 2 miles north of Las Cruces. In my "Off
roading in February" video, it shows the trail you take to get out there,
we just turned left instead of going straight.
Haha, I guess. Not too knowledgeable in that area (yet I comment
anyways...). I guess I just figured that they were reasonably well
protected against that kind of thing.
those window visors on the moon roof makes seriously no sense to me. they
up an cover half the moon roof just to open it when it rains? dope video
tho man!
Let's see an Impreza drive across the pond without engine issues, lol. As
was said, the Forester is an Impreza chassis with a wagon body, they're
identical.
I drove both wrx and wrx sti, i liked the engine of wrx better, sti is
torquier, but wrx is much smoother. Sti has better transmission tho. I dont
know which one to pick lol. wrx is cheaper too, but the guys said that sti
has stronger engine. Any thoughts or advise? Can u spend that money you pay
for sti on wrx and get better performance?
+Nelson Chu I went for an STI eventually. I thought it would be a better package. Love it so far. Very nice car, and I love the looks. Stiff as hell though, but hey! You cant have it all right?)
+Victor Menshchikov I'm not sure if you bought one already. Looking at the curves between wrx and STI. The WRX has a much better engine and has much more potential. If i were you, i would get the WRX and spend the extra money on tuning it. It also depends how often you're going to drive this car. MPG is a thing.
Even though the new exterior doesn't look absolutely mind blowing, it still
looks way fucking better than the old pieces of shit. Seriously, old-school
wrx fans must really just love the look of fugly cars. They'd probably
really enjoy a VW Bug as well as far as aesthetics go.
I agree with that. There are tons of ugly ass cars out there. Car companies need to start employing artists to design their cars. The old WRX models just look like old '90s cars with bug-eyed headlights to me, and '90s cars really didn't have much going for them in general.
Fair enough, i agree with that last sentence entirely. Maybe i'm just not old enough to see the ugly in the older models. I would say they look more like toys, but not necessarily ugly. I mean Buick lesabre is an ugly car in my opinion. And there's about a hundred more others in that boat of ugly cars that should really just.. get off the road entirely.
As far as I can tell, I'm not the one crying here. I like the new design. Sure, it looks a little more mainstream than I would like it to, but it still looks much better than the old ones. If you want a car to stick out, then have it stick out because it looks good, not because it looks ugly.
I completely disagree with the old ones being fugly. This new one just looks more mainstream. Honestly it just blends in more with every other new 2014/2015 design car out there in the same sedan price range. The old ones stood out for a reason. It's a rally inspired car, it's supposed to look different. Go cry somewhere else.
Subaru Commercial
Commercial was shot at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico by the Discovery Channel for Subaru. I was extremely happy with the outcome, and very gracious that ...
