@BoxcarFrank Yeah my grandmother and grandfather live on 106th and Rhodes which is 2 blocks west of Cottage Grove and we can always see the trains. My grandad listens to his scanner and can pick them up on occasion. I would love to see your footage from up there.

@Jabbajawz4life I went to 107th and Cottage Grove Before. Neat spot since trains don't usually stop there and fly through at speed. Kensington just South of there is pretty cool too. I have footage that still needs to be uploaded from those locations.

same thing happened to me when I went to Forest Hill last time. He said he "preferred" I wouldn't be there because the neighborhood wasn't so nice. I only stayed for about 10 or 15 minutes before I attracted too much attention.

Oh and frank there is a place right on 115th and Cottage Grove that would be good to railfan on. That's the station where the CN starts to take over on the IC Line.

You know whats Ironic about that? You can see a white SUV drive into the scene right when they climb on. That was a BRC cop patrolling Clearing Yard way down there.

I must commend you on a video of such detail, this is one of my favorite line along interstate 57 being such that I am always stuck in the morning traffic and sometimes I get to see the train moving along and wishing that I was on it, lol sigh! oh well I can daydream, anyway a great video that I very much enjoyed.

With that Amtrak Pere Marquette that's news to me that the Metra Rock Island District crosses over two lines that Amtrak uses I thought the only line they cross over that Amtrak used was the one that the Amtrak Lincoln Services and Texas Eagles used next to Joliet Station. Cool Video Frank!!!

I try to keep my wits about me and not attract attention by not doing anything stupid, and keep my camera and anything else valuable hidden. Plus I listen to the police scanner.. if anything crazy is happening nearby, I stay away.
