Obama At U Of Michigan - Full Speech
Speaking at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, President Obama unveiled his plan for keeping college affordable. He proposed a "race to the top" program ...
@benzaintarental Umm no, encourage congress to stop the doubling of
interest on student loans, encourage congress to reward campuses that keep
tuition low with federal money and aid, present federal aid in the form of
grants directly to students instead of towards banks, create reports that
present consumers with details and specs regarding colleges so that
consumers can make better financial decisions, increase the length of the
tax cut. All these things reduce student debt. That's his plan. :)
@YouAreOneOfUs I agree, the system you're describing is criminal. I was
just trying to explain Obama's plan. His, is a good idea. He's not taking
debt from students and passing it to people "that couldn't afford to go to
school." He never said that. He is going to take a tax which is ALREADY in
place and cease to pay it out to colleges that don't watch their budgets
and keep their tuition low. Keeping tuition low it the goal. Sorry I was
confusing in the last comment. I hope this clears it up.
I have decided not to respond to any more garbage emanating from ignorant,
no nothings going forward. To respond is to give their nonsense legitimacy
which it does not deserve. So instead of enabling bad behavior by
responding it, I will simply refuse to play into their hate and
insecurities and respond ONLY to rational arguments which make sense and is
free of ad hominem attacks against ANYONE, including the POTUS! I'd like to
remain a positive contributor on YOUTUBE! Thanks guys for the OP.
@YouAreOneOfUs 1. You dont have to take aid at all, you can still do
exactly what your father did. 2. Government increases costs because thats
how a loan works lol. 3. Not everyone is in huge debt, but people who go to
a school for 4-6 years who maybe shouldnt even be continuing their academic
studies (technical jobs--if you look at it that way--are just as important
to society as "ideas" jobs)and then party away $200,000 probably will be in
debt...yes (Yes, I realize theres more to it).
@cdjo23 although I do agree with you. That the Governments website may not
be a"reliable & credible sources" I researched the Law that applied at the
time of Obamas Birth ,from a government website. It clearly stated that he
did NOT meet the standard to be a lwafull "NATRUAL BORN CITIZEN". I copied
the BC that he supplied , from the Government website. Then actually looked
at it. It has been tampered with. Anyone that knows how to work a computer
can see it. Anyway ,the case is IN COURT
@cdjo23 Just goes to show you "What an incredibly st00pid comment!!" yours
was. Propaganda is everywhere , especially other countries. Of course they
love him , dose that mean I should blindly love him also? You really need
help. The facts are there. Research them for yourself. Don't come make
comments out of an Ignorant stance and expect to "change" anyones Informed
opinions. I based on Facts Personally researched. You should do the same.
Your comments prove how Ignorant Americans are.
@DiverseLA ..Clearly they are jealous of him! If he found a cure for
cancer, they'd still criticize him and accuse him of wasting time on the
taxpayer's dime...but the President isn't losing any sleep over these sad,
pathetic-b*goted losers with an ax to grind! He's busy doing his job &
getting stuff done for the American ppl and keeping our country safe from
the likes of OBL and company. Haters will always be haters and FOX and
Limbaugh is behind most of the hate in America today!
@erichaywood7 Does the name Osama Bin Laden ring a bell? GM & Chrysler back
in the black and hiring again; our economy is growing at 3% of GDP; 3M pvt
sector jobs created in the past 22months; our broken health care and
banking systems reformed; top al Kaeda leaders no longer a threat to the
USA, etc etc etc, and I could go on & on pointing out Pres. Obama's many
successes, yet in your feeble mind he's a failure which says way more about
you and your cohorts then it does about him.
@benzaintarental I think you're missing something here. Taxpayer's are
already paying colleges. That's where the federal aid comes from already.
This plan is to potentially take that away if colleges can't budget
themselves better and reduce tuition. See what I'm saying? So, the money
that tax payers are already paying in the first place, is going to be used
differently (as encouragement). This directly impacts taxpayers paying for
their kids schooling. Lower tuition = lower debt.
@YouAreOneOfUs Btw, I'm good, but thanks for the unsolicited advice. I
think it is you who should take your own advice, clearly you could use it!
FYI, I absolutely despise individuals who bash our President for no good
reason!!! Envy and b*gotry are hardly rational reasons for such blind
hatred of this man who is trying so hard to improve life here!!..he does
not deserve your scorn & ridicule and I intend to defend him whether you
and your ILK like it, or not! Sind wir KLAR????
@therunnerupmusic There are movies on youtube. College is a scam , and
others. They actually describe why Government , involved in college
actually HURTS you. Listen , I will go slow for you. When my father went to
college , there was no Government aid. He woked a part time job and put
himself through college. Now there is government aid , even after you
graduate and you get a full time job , that you trained for , you cant pay
for college. Government involvment increases cost
@therunnerupmusic I don't know what side of the argument you are on , but
your wrong. You clearly don't know economics. Taking debt from students and
them passing it to people that couldn't afford to goto school is Criminal.
The whole reason schools are so expensive is BECAUSE the Government is
involved in them and have gauranteed money. Schools have Millions of
Dollars Profit. They can do this because the governmenet (your tax dollars)
money involved. The system is Criminal.

The University Of Michigan's $450,000.00 Tree Move
This is supposedly a 250 year old burr oak tree that was moved by a company for $450000 dollars for the University of Michigan. Allegedly the money was ...
This Burr Oak would be a wild old growth "Legacy" class tree, not a
Heritage example planted by early settlers. Ancient locally evolved Quercus
macrocarpa has a possible lifespan of 600 years in a forest setting, and
has been proven to survive 400 within urban environments. If this one in
video is estimated to be 250, than its still only a teenager. Enjoy!
+Chosen Won, before humans mechanically dug trees out of nurseries for replanting (Leaving behind 90% of remaining root system) with manageable sized root balls, they replanted old growth trees harvested from forest, transported down river on a barge, then 8 team horse wagon to location. And from the old photo's, most had the same identical radius root balls as shown In your video, and generally were from 150 to 250 0ld. So yes C1, I have high confidence this tree will not only survive its next 5 years, but will thrive after flush of fresh root growth expands into fresh soil. In fact it has a better chance with more kept roots, than modern produced landscape trees of today. Even by planting a new Burr Oak, overwhelming odds and poor landscape culture practices sadly dictate life of tree. Thanks for letting me help on answering your questions, enjoy!
+CONCERTMANchicago Interesting. Thank you. Any information on the success/failure stat's on moving a tree this way? It worked, I'll give them credit for a job well done.
Not really. Now if $100,000 was spent, then yes. Because that is what tree is worth. But Imagine though, if tree lives another 150 years, it will be worth what they paid to move it.As a Cultural legacy of school property, it represents countless future generations priceless living connection back to era before university founded. But if anyone was really serious in protecting tree, they would have never taken chance by transplanting it.
Empirical sources, since I am a tree historian who has counted age rings on a lot of big stumps over the years. While I have witnessed 450 old Burr Oaks, local history documents 550+ old examples harvested during our regions European setter era of 1830's. I noticed Universities moved tree was suffering from compact soil in its old spot, probably caused by years of students walking underneath. Now tree has best chance to grow all new roots through better soil.
+CONCERTMANchicago Thanks. Where are your sources from?
