I am a swimmer and I know very well that 46.91 for a 100 is extreme. My Limbs hurt thinking about it.

sore loser?! All he did was hit the water with disappointment. If you trained so hard to win, and lost by a split second, I'd like to see what YOU would do! The second place guy actually reacted just fine. He didn't start yelling or arguing or protesting against anybody. (I'm a swimmer btw. I once missed a time standard for a 50 yard freestyle by one hundredth of a second. pisses you off)

+Matt Azar I currently swim at competition level swimming and have for the past four years, and was an all-varsity wrestler for three years.1. Obviously I made an assumption that I shouldn't have, but still getting angry like that isn't right. 2. You are right, genetics do play a massive role, but putting in the training and work is still what ultimately makes you a better swimmer. If someone like Lochte never put practice he would not be at the level he is right now. So it is a combination of both, so I don't see why you think practice doesn't help. lol3. You are racing times, not the other people in the lanes. The only thing stopping you from reaching those times are yourself. Coaches usually say the same thing, "the only thing you can control in the pool is the water in-between the lane lines and yourself."Considering your response I am guessing you don't really swim above a high school level. Almost every decent swimmer I have met feels the same way.

+MrMashFace Ridiculous... 1. How do you know he was mad at other people? He's most likely mad at himself for coming up short. 2. The amount of work you put in and the results you get out of it do not directly correlate. If you take an average guy off the street and put him through the same training as an olympic athlete for years, it's extremely unlikely he'll be an olympic athlete at the end. Genetics play a huge role.3. It's a race. It's not just "between you and yourself."Calling this bad sportsmanship for slapping the water is absolutely ridiculous. Have you ever competed in any sporting event?
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-5YriDm7P3mU/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABM/LhGJuLHtT6Y/photo.jpg?sz=64
Still, bad sportsmanship. If you didn't make the time then you didn't make the time. He shouldn't be pouting and whining about someone being better than him. If you do the work then you get the results. It's between you are yourself, not anyone else.

+MrMashFaceHate to burst your bubble princess, but an optimal time for the SEALS/SWCC PST 500 yard swim is 9 minutes, while a 12.5 minute swim is the minimum. This is either the breast or side stroke. Check it out yourself: //www.sealswcc.com/navy-seals-enlisted-general-requirements.html
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-5YriDm7P3mU/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABM/LhGJuLHtT6Y/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Tanner Layton You are both morons. You don't know the training Navy fucking SEALs go through. If you two were ACTUAL Navy SEALs then you might be right, but no.A 500 yard freestyle in under 7 minutes is not difficult by any means, and a 500 yard freestyle in 9 minutes is bullshit. The 500 yard freestyle doesn't wear your arms out, it's probably the easiest competitive race to do if you can last a while in the pool.

+Brimuaythai My bad, this was super fast, i forgot why the Seals don't do freestyle cos it wears yours arms out too fast for the other PT test portions.  Going 10-11 sec per lap is insane.
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-D_IK5fW0ylU/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAFE/xgxHAf3y_UU/photo.jpg?sz=64
Do u realize that Navy Seals do this for their PST test in sub 7's..But still good though.
