Mike, As always, thanks for the update. Curious, this there much talk about
Hong Kong and China's economy over there. I certainly understand if it is
hard to tell due to the culture and, well, you are there to work---not
spend their dime asking economy questions. :) BTW, I was in the software
biz most of my life both professionally and from my dad's company. Perhaps
this is why your insight and personality draws me to listen. You see, we
are both a little off/insane. But we think logically.
The German manufacturing machine was going strong until this month. False
hopes that the ex-third biggest economy would have a 'narrower decline'
then the US / Japan / China. So guess what? They export a lot of stuff, and
now the demand is dropping. They are better placed to rid out the storm,
but not immune. People are waking to that reality now. BTW Germany will
likely re-take third place this year, China's GDP will drop by more than
Germany. The dropping Euro is a catchup game. Peace
US ratings agencies downgrading Europe now. OK .. the US banks sold them
that junk in the first place, so I suppose they'd know best... ;-)
Seriously though, I get the impression that there is a PR campaign to "run
down" the Eurozone .. to scare people away from the Euro and Euro based
bonds. That would of course help the sale of US TBonds would it not ? I got
an Email from someone in the UK today about Southhampton Docks now being
used the park cars ! Can you confirm that ? Good work !
He should be able to get a flip mino or minoHD for a really good price
here. He should try and get the real thing if he can - they're both
fantastic little cams for YT, and portable. While the quality is great,
they are a lot more expensive than a 'webcam' and they can be used for a
lot more things than a webcam. The video quality is much better on the HD
if you can part with the extra money, but the files take much longer to
upload. google for flip mino HD and see videos Just MHO Mike
It wouldn't surprise me if there was an organized effort to sow doubt about
the euro. Our govt may not give a damn what anyone thinks of our foreign
policy, but they care deeply what people think of our currency & competing
currencies. I personally think all govts are trying to do the wrong thing.
They're all trying to get growth back & they're willing to mortgage the
future to do it. Where is it written that endless growth is our birthright?
We s/ focus on sustainability & efficiency.
Nothing unexpected here. In a system based on private property, there is a
demand to protect private property. As a result, the guy with the biggest
guns has the upper hand. I learnt that from the gangs in the US which are
actually an open to everyone to see model of the world community at large.
The US has the biggest army and therefore is the best provider of security.
Putting your stuff on the ganglord's turf is the safest way of protecting
it. And actually the € is dropping.
Hey Mike, thanks for the update. As for the amounts of videos, it's not a
problem most of your viewers I think understand the value of hard work, and
they certainly understand that you have other things to do. I am looking
into the bonds next to crash so I am indeed glad you brought this up. I
think my prediction for the onset of inflation after May will materialize
following a bond market crash. Things in Canada are not too bad for now,
but could get worse by mid-years. Cheers!
I checked out a couple of articles you suggested - enlightening if somewhat
frightening reading. Unfortunately, in the US we've dispersed half of our
bank bailout w/ no strings or accountability to the very hoods who got the
ball rolling - w/ predictable results. Bernie Madoff, the greatest criminal
of all time, is barely a blip here. It truly seems we've lost all sense of
right and wrong - or perhaps any sense of scale. Thanks for your work. 5*
and I'll be subscribing.
HK has the most free trade in Asia. There are people here from all over the
region, and they are all still very positive for future prospects. I have
seen more Masteratis and Lamborginis here than in London! There is a lot of
wealth in such a small place; and they feel they are well placed for when
the recovery in the RTOW starts. I didn't have the heart to share my theory
on that! There are signs of things slowing; but at the moment the general
atmosphere is positive.
Germany troubles are no way a surprise. Again a coincidental situation.
Germany happened to be expert on heavy industry which includes production
of machines tools. China was building a lot of factories to meet their side
of the agreement with the US then big demand on machines tools. Germany was
probably one of the only countries to have a positive net with China. US
demand for manufactured goods drops. China demand for manchines tools
drops. Germany in trouble.
No!!! The reality of this CRISIS is WE humans are gaining consciousness of
our universe, planet and the self which creates a certain shift of
awareness on producing, consuming and buying less shitty products/services
offered to us by the psychopath corporate. Now because they own the media
they are struggling to hide these facts and they are bailing out the shitty
and stinky corporate as if they were the cause of the problem. Please
switch off your TV.
Mike, It s seems like here in the states things are happening really
slowly. Cars are piling up in the port and ships are almost nonexistent.
Still it seems we are cranking along doing our thing. Do you have any idea
what will happen that will open people eyes the global meltdown that simply
cant be ignore? I have family that simply thinks this is a little slowdown
and are not taking any of this seriously. Frustrating!!
