+najwa al riyaMi Mila if it's virgin hair (not bleached or dyed) go on! If it's alredy dyed or bleached, it won't do anything. I'm talking from my experiences
Take it from a professional, DO NOT USE BOX BLEACHS. Anything that promises
to turn your hair lighter has bleach and developer in it. Usually its no
more than 4% developer hence the orange tones... They are very drying and
unhealthy for your hair.
If you must do it at home rub coconut oil into your scalp, it will protect
your scalp and roots. You can also massage it throughout your hair, it
won't stop the bleach working, just protects your hair, by counteracting
the drying effects of the bleach. Use a bleach and cream developer and
condition really well after you've used your toner.
Best of all, save up and go to a good salon. Ask around, don't just book
into the first one you see. Not all stylists are good, a busy salon usually
means its decent.
+John Doe yes, that's what I learned from my experiences, dye only lifts virgin hair as I said. The first time I got my hair dyed was by a professional who wouldn't want to bleach my virgin hair to get a golden blonde to not ruin it so she put a light blonde dye and I got a nice chocolate brown.
+Ely Saiyan you're half right. Color doesn't lift color, so putting a light ash blonde over previously color treated hair will only make the hair darker. However, if the hair is virgin, the color can lift AND deposit as long as you're using a 20 volume developer or higher :) this explains why only the roots lighten if you were to put a blonde color all over your head with previously colored ends. Hope that helps.
+Britt well, maybe it lights non dyed hair, but if the hair is already dyed, you need to bleach it. I'm talking from my experiences. I dyed my natural brown hair with bright red and it turned out the darkest red possible, only noticeable in the sun so I dyed it red again but did nothing. I put the lightest blonde to make it lighter and again, nothing. I had no choice but to bleach it to get the colour in the picture (which was what I wanted)
+Shawns Lokai well, it lights non dyed hair, but if the hair is already dyed, you need to bleach it. I'm talking from my experiences. +Tipsylou I you have been slightly miss led it is true that color does not remove color(former dye/natural black to blond) like bleach but there is a a smaller range in which a lighter color can & does lighten hair. Would you really recommend for some one who is blond to bleach their hair before dying it another shade of blond???
+Tipsylou Every single dye on the market uses a developer that uses at the very least between 10-20% of a lift regardless if you go lighter or darker. You have been mislead.
+Tipsylou actually, the L'Oreal hair dye says on the box that it lightens your hair as well as deposits color, so saying it will "ONLY ever" make your hair darker is completely untrue. I dyed my sister's black hair with this dye as well and it lightened to a light medium brown.
+Shawns Lokai because dye only ever adds colour to existing colour. I get paid to paint for a living, I know how dye works, it's like adding a white watercolour to a dark watercolour- in theory it will only make the painting darker because it's simply adding pigment, even a pigment with almost no value. If you want to lighten your hair, you HAVE to treat it with a bleach. Also her roots don't actually change colour at all, even she says so.

These are the steps I took I do not recommend anyone do these steps at all but because I am impatient with my hair and it is strong I did so I hope that this was ...
+LADDIE SYMONE okay just making sure you knew when people say they're gonna use peroxide and baking soda instead of bleach 9/10 they don't know its the same lol
Okay. So my hair is dyed like a golden brown color right now. I'm lighting
it right now, and u wanted to know what would happen if I put this color on
it now that I have it lightened! I love this hair color. It's beautiful on
you and I want this I'm just wondering if it would be like this if I put it
on my "golden brown" hair.
+DeYanna Teague no it wouldn't and i hope I'm not late to inform you that you shouldn't put this on your hair if its already lightened be cause it have lighter in it it will only be this shade if your hair is as light as mine i would try using a red hair dye that doesn't have any lighter in it
+tiaamarie122 lol you did so wrong there what I recommend you doing is going to sallys beauty supply and get color fix or color opps remove all the build up of the color and then see what color u have left and go from there
i do since ive been coloring my hair and i was a lil ignorant to how to do it properly i would recommend using 20 vol because with that it gives you enough time to not rush an make sure you get the coverage you need ... my hair was damaged before i put this color in my head but after it felt the most healty like it was my natural hair color it is seriously amazing but only if you have the level of blonde that i did will it lift to this vibrant red the darker your hair is the darker the red this color has lightener in it already so be mindful
Nice shade! Why did you start at the roots? Didn't it give you hot roots?
Ash Blondes tend to turn a bit grayish while applying. What color is your
natural hair? Brown? I bleached my middle part today cause I had some
redness that wouldn't go away and I didn't have any money for more toner
and I need another shade of toner, so I used this ash blonde shade on it
and it worked like a charm. Btw my hair is totally bleached but it's now a
medium ash blonde.
no it didnt give me hot roots since it was an ash color and my hair is a level 2 which is the darkest brown it worked out fine cancelling the redness in my hair

I just recently went back to blonde hair (first time since 2002). And I
tried out medium beige blonde....I LOVE IT!! It's perfect on me! It's not
too light or too dark. It is a perfect shade of blonde for me...But I use
L'Oreal Excellence Creme (it's #8BB-Medium Beige Blonde). I have DEFINITELY
found my shade.
Turned out PERFECT! You too look great with beige blonde too. I like it! I
wouldn't sweat the tiny stuff, like the tiny bit of reddish-copper. It just
makes it look even sexier (think Thelma & Louise, they had red hair). No
big deal! Looks awesome!
I was doing my ROOTS people. Always, do the roots 1st, then cover the whole
head. Been doing my hair this color / way for a long time now... ALWAYS
getting who compliments. Thx to those of u complimented. If any1 has
questions, hit me up.
It looks great. I know this video was months ago but I suggest you put it
on your roots and let it sit on there for awhile then apply all over since
roots take the longest when they're dark
That turned out really pretty. I don't like blonde hair, when it turns out
white, or purplish, or grayish. But the color you have is a happy, young
kind of blonde hair.
