+XxPhoenixX In my opinion, the overall story is a simple one; about an innocent girl forced to grow up and face these real world problems. The game was not about Yonoka trying to escape Mogeko Castle, but her struggle to accept the fact that her brother is no longer; the brother she loved, and to face with the dark challenges of the world of today by herself. That's why near the end, Yonoka begins to smile with eyes of blood-lust, because she knows, after her experiences as a young adult, what must happen and simply just accepts it. She finally understands that the world isn't some carefree paradise, but a cruel, kill-or-be-killed world, where anything could happen (just as in the game, you never know when you could get a bad ending). The only part in the game which actually happened in reality was when the brother chased her. I think that this scene was the actual first scene in the game, continuing at episode one until the point where she decides to go back to her brother. After the many things she was forced to go through, she overcame her own fear and came back to her brother, whom she loved enough to know that inside, he was suffering. She loved him enough to ended his pain, which is why he didn't dodge her (most likely) predictable attack. He could've dodged it, but he knew her intention. At the FINAL scene with the ??? Mogeko, that part also happened, but not exactly as portrayed. The story (as I see it) is that after killing her brother, she couldn't get over the pain of loneliness, because she has no one else to retreat to, so she decided to end her pain via overdosage of medicine (as how she tried to "ease the pain" with pills); she basically commits suicide. If you think about it, the first time her facial expression in the menu screen was her crying over the loss of Defect Mogeko, representing her sadness that she felt when she lost her brother to insanity. It would be natural for her to mentally break down after what she has been through, especially with her overall innocent attitude.Basically, the ending is pretty much what remains of those who give in after coming so far. Yonoka finally understood what it meant to live as an adult and what it would demand from her. In the end, she couldn't take the pressure and took her own life to escape this cruel game. The Mogekos really do represent nightmares; the nightmares we all live see in media; the nightmares we hear happen to the ones we love; the nightmares of life. As they say: only the strong survive.
"Where there is mogeko, there is nightmare." Not for me, because I fucking
love them and they're part of my list of "most adorable things in the whole
wide world, cosmos, universe,
etc."!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
