God I love this movie. Saw it in the theatre when I was a kid. Damn you,
Belushi, you tease. We had just begun to love you and then .. poof! You
were gone.
The original is better.
Every time I see the 2014 trailer for the Seth Rogan film of the same name,
I have to roll my eyes. Same basic story but (abricadabra) with a frat
house instead of a freaky married couple.
Don't write an original story, just rip off a classic and put new wallpaper
on it.
+Dario Wirtha i though she was so hot in this movie....she later went on tom open up Mulberry Pizza out here in L.A...not sure if she is still involved with them
Only in this film. She's absolutely nothing like this in real life. From that point of view she is a great actress, but on the other hand you have to wonder what the hell she was thinking by not BEING this person, since she would have gotten a lot more work and actually had a career.
Neighbors (1981) The Swamp
Earl and Vic go to the swamp to look for Vic's truck in the 1981 comedy Neighbors. "And that is where you saw her mami?" "Her mammal?" You can get this ...
this is their best effort, tv or film. they were supposed to play the other
guys part, but belushi thought it would be better to switch roles, to me
worked out great! great hidden dark comedy, lol! one of my all time faves!!
god bless you john
that's what Robert Quarry would look like if the zombies pulled him out of
the quicksand in "Sugar Hill". Too bad, this movie flop as it was John
Belushi's last
John Belushi's final film, released late 1981, here's the movie trailer for "Neighbors" starring John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd. The film was profitable because the ...
+Chesapeake1122 Sad that there were problems during the making of it. If I had directed, I would've let John and Danny have input. Why not? They are funny guys! If I didn't think something worked, I would let them know in a nice way and compliment them though on a good try and come up with more.
I spent--let me start again--WASTED 5 fucking bucks on this vile,
unbelievably dumbass film, and cannot believe how many of you "people"
enjoyed it. John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd? Awesome! Blues Brothers?
Hilarious! This? So, dumb, so random, there's nothing "surreal" or "crazy"
about it in good taste. Jesus... You all must have watched it as children,
which gave you insipid nostalgia for it. It gave me nothing (and I love me
a dumbass film) it was all done in poor taste.
A friend of mine just gave me the biography "Wired", and it was an
interesting read when it came to the part of the making of this movie;
considering all the bad blood that went on during the production, it's a
wonder that it ever came out at all, but Columbia was in the hot seat and
couldn't bring themselves to simply not release it. It would be interesting
to see any of the deleted scenes, or the rejected original cut of the
movie, just to see how disastrous it looked at first.
It would be interesting to see a re-cut of it, if Columbia ever went for that. Better yet, let Dan Aykroyd have a hand in it.The ABC-TV version had a couple of interesting scenes that were put into it, such as Elaine explaining why she had been kicked out of school (after Earl punched Vic).
+Shades Below Well, don't trust everything in that book. It doesn't really portray John in a positive light. They could've not released it, as stated in the book, but because of the big names, it would be hard to do that.
Saw this at the theater when I was 8, and was a big Belushi fan. I didn't
get all the adult jokes, but I liked it quite a bit, and it actually holds
up well. Shame to hear the production was a disaster and everyone disowned
it. This comedy is way better than a 2 1/2 hr excuse for comedy called
Anchorman 2 which I just watched yesterday. RIP comedy.
