+Filip Tenko I know, he is so great in comedy, but he is pretty great in serious movies too, Platoon being the best example. But he's taken very few "serious" roles since, and "The Arrival" has one of them! Let us know if you liked it!

I dont understand this movie. Actually I dont understand any mafia films.
What was the point of this movie? The acting was great, plot was ok, effects
were also good, but whats the point ? To show how harsh being a wiseguy is?
To show that good things come with bad ones? I saw Godfather it was as
confusing as this film and these two got high ratings. How? For why? Do you
people love gangster films? Where everyone kills each other, smokes, drinks
and so on? Whats so good about movies like these?
I hear this and the departed are the best gangster-type films. Ive seen the
Departed and its VERY good IMO, just wanted to ask if people which of the
godfather of goodfellas was better? Im probs gonna see them both anyways :)
Finally! A horse racing movie!! I remember Mind That Bird, that was only a
few years ago.. Little know fact .. Chantel Sutherland was suppose to be
his mount but she got kicked off with just days before the derby..she never
came close to being on a derby horse again.
+beau solley Interesting that you should mention Thunder Gulch. I went to an OTB that year with my sister and her husband who knows a lot about racing. I didn't know squat about it at the time. I looked over her shoulder at the racing program and pointed to Thunder Gulch and said "This one's gonna win." And he did....for whatever reason. Wish I could do that all the time. It does seem strange that such freakingly long-odds horses win once or twice and then never do much anymore. Greedy, cheating, cruel people....lot of that in this world.
That's because Chantel wasn't willing to use a buzzer (machine, shocking device) like Calvin was. I know him personally, and have been around the horse racing business for over 40 years, lived in Louisville all my life. This is a rampant problem. They try to distract you from this REAL problem by talking about illegal drugs and supplements, but the real issue is animal cruelty through the use of shocking devices. If you don't believe me look at the You Tube coverage of the 1995 derby, where Gary Stevens hands off a machine to Pat Day after they cross the finish line. Stevens was on Thunder Gulch $50+ and Day was on Timber Country. Watch the "hand slap" after the finish and pause when their hands come apart. Then fast forward to last year's Preakness where Stevens used one again on Oxbow and again in the previous race($60 horse) after coming out of retirement after 18 years. Knowing what I know, I bet $36 dollars on the national pick 5 that day and won $10,000. Please reply back after you view the '95 event. I'd like to know your opinion. You can rest assured that Mine That Bird was buzzed to the 50-1 win.
