04 Cadillac Deville HID install 2 Before And After
Installed new HID bulbs and ballasts in my 04 Cadillac deville Video 2 of 2.
+Jonathan Altieri i was under the impression the HID's were compatable but they dident hold up live and learn i suppose. That video was before the headlights had been adjusted, that did make a difference with the light pattern. I'm tempted to simply get an LED light bar and sneek it behind the grill or bumper. Toss in a relay and switch and good to go. Out in the county having both low and high beams on isn't always enough.
+RobHoffmann20 You fried the HID's, cause of the daytime running lights. HID's need full power to operate. They're like a florescent bulb. DRL's run a low power. That will cause the HID's to flicker and die. I had HID's in my Fusion, but my DRL's are on my low beams. Had to take the HID's out. Need to order a relay and special flicker box, so they'll work. Also, HID's in the reflector will scatter the light everywhere, you either need projectors or a metal shield to put under the bulb, so you'll have a cutoff line. :)
There are reclectors built into the headlights... fyi the HID'S crapped the bed.. so i upgraded to LED.... those also shit out... back to standard halogen for the caddy now maybe daytime running lights screws em up. Hid and led both said they were compatable
Dude I need to get some HIDS Iin my cadillac deville pronto! Thanks man it
looks great and I will probably got with the 8000K. So no problems
occurring so far?
+RobHoffmann20 . I got the 2005 cadilac deville Base model. I think 2000-2005 are pretty much the same though. My low beams are 9006 and highs are 9005.
+MrMayn505 Are these the ones you bought? I want to make sure they fit. //www.hidkitxenonlights.com/9006/9006-single-beam-full-xenon-hid-conversion-kit/
I have no issues with getting a ticket... these lights are properly pointed. they do not blind other drivers. i ordered them online... HidKitXenonLights.com
I have a 95 Chevy with HID's in the low beams, could this mod work if I had
HID's in the high beams as well? I know the Hids are 55watts of draw, it be
a total of 110 watts.....
+SpeedyChevy72 Yes, it can work, the relay will take care of the wattage needed. Just be aware, HID's don't come on right away so you will not have high beams at once. I solved this by having a Silver Star bulb on my left high beam and a an HID on the right, which when it warms up, gives a lot of road sign reflecting way down the road.
+philis52 Pretty much the same amount of wire work and relay type needed, on mine one just has to remove lights if they wish. Both ways work well. Thank you for your comment.
+spikedpunk Nope, but you also don't have to use half a mile of wire and don't have to take out the headlights either, just do it all a lot closer inside the engine bay. You've got the basics, it's just that there's an easier way to do your exact method.
Yo dude thx for the repair for the 4 beam headlight system, its so annoying
that the low beams turn off when high beam are activated... I just did the
relay modification using HIDs on a 1995 Cadillac Deville, and it works
great!!! Im going to try the relay on the fog lights on my 2008 Cadillac
DTS and 2011 Ford Explorer XLT. because they turn off when high beams are
activated. now I have to figure out how to fix the warm up time for after
market HIDs, my 2008 Cadillac has OEM hids and they come on full
brightness, does anyone know how to do that with after market hids ??? thx
again!! for the info,.
+Gary Kwitko You are welcome! I am not sure why many manufacturers do this, have the lows go off when the highs come on. One would figure that with high amp output alternators, this would not be a concern to have all 4 on at the same time. Fog lights turn off due to motoring regulations in many states and provinces, for too many lights on (???!!!) is not allowed, nor are fog lights allowed on with highbeams. I would like to figure out a way to have 'instant on' for HID's as well, for I have one on the right side high beam of the truck, and a Silver Star Ultra on the passenger side - for instant on. The HID, when it comes on, gives extra down the road illumination of road signs, ETC.
Whatever the means, the generic kits make the project just that much quicker to to get done without the need of cutting and fitting wires as I had to do. Thank you for the kind words on the truck, it will be out again soon for the nice weather driving season. The lighting improvement is really nice.
I am really glad the clip helped you out and enabled you to get more light at night from your truck. Thank you for the kind words!
Cadillac Daytime Running Lights
How to replace Cadillac daytime running lights. The bulbs are really hard to get at. So much so I decided to make a video showing whats involved. I worked at ...
to get the torx screws out (torx 15), use a torx socket attached to a
flexible extension with a powered screwdriver or drill. It made it very
easy to r/r.
