+Prepare to Serve! >It is not very difficult to dress properly in cold weather. Basically , no matter what part of your body, we use something that breathes and can release moisture out, closest to your skin. On top of this we use something made of wool or fleece, which absorbs moisture without losing its ability to heat. So it's important to have something that's windproof outside of the wool. So three layers are the best combination, synthetic , wool and windproof. There is no problem using other fabrics outside of the wool, to look more fashionable. As long you have a windproof layer in the end. Layer upon layer upon layer upon layer with cloth is not a good idea if you don't put them in the right order. I have a lot of experiences from the time when I served in the Norwegian army up north, and exercised together with soldiers from the US army during the winter. The soldiers from the US army was so packed with cloths, that they barley could walk. They could not understand that we with so little clods didn't freeze to death. We could stay more or less outside for 2-3 weeks, living in tents. The only who was really important, was to have clean first and second layer every third day and a shower. If we couldn't have a shower in water, we took a snow bath, even if it was 30 degree below zero.

Good point, I think pants are a great idea! Missionaries have fairly strict dress and grooming guidelines. They are a lot more flexible than they were years ago.

Hi, Karin. I'm gonna spend few days in Oslo but most of the time i'll be staying in Tromso with the purpose of seeing the Northern lights... I'd better buy those things over there 'cause in here is quite difficult to find decent winter clothes/boots, specially now (is almost summer!). Many thanks for your reply, it is very kind of you :D

The easiest with boots is probably to use something that is water resistent and wear Wool socks in them! :) If you have the option to buy completely new shoes i know many people go for leather (which they spray to make water restistant) and wool fur inside! :) Where in Norway are you going? some places have little snow and much rain, and some places lots of snow and very cold. Check the forecast before you go! But water resistant and wool should keep you warm a long time :)

I speak for most when I say I disagree, what's more is that I appreciate all the compassion and creativity that she takes so mush time to adorn such beauty in each video with such depth for those like me to be uplifted while bringing a smile to my face... Not for those like yourself who shouldn't be watching or taking the time to out of their disapproving shallow moment to scorn out of petty envy.... Hmm.... Funny ; What time you took to discredit her altruistic work should shed light on your negativity .... Perhaps if your heart was in the right place it would inspire you to try and be less "cool" ... And more warm hearted. I hope you get better.
