It was in 4wd, it can't Not be in 4wd, it has a AMG 242 transfer case in it. You get 4HI , 4 Lock ,N , and 4Lo.The 4HI sends power to the wheels with most traction, being that this HI is high centered, the Transfer case was making the decision to send power to the area with most resistance.I simple shift into 4 Lock would have sent power to all 4.I believe in this, as you never know when you just need to floor it and hope for the best, as well this transfer-case is what you find in most Jeeps before 2010, from high end ZJs to XJs, it was the NP 242 with a 2wd option known in the bizz as the "Select-A-Track", AMG took the transfer-case and wiped out the 2wd, added another planetary, a huge internal cooler and a wider belt, as well beefing up everything all around. Im putting a AMG 242 in my 1968 M-715 because I believe its best all around transfer-case , bar none.

If you live in a place that gets snow, then you really do need winter
tires. All-season tires become slippery 'HOCKEY PUCKS' when the temp drops
below freezing.
I have a 2006 front-drive Toyota Corolla, with Goodyear Nordic tires, and I
regularly go through snow that deep. I use my car to plow the driveway
(with snow 30cm deep) with a home-built snow plow in the front, that is how
good winter tires can handle snow like that.
Yeah, you're probably correct (I'm a moron who cannot drive, that's why I need winter tires. But wow, do those winter tires ever help this moron drive really well ! )
