Have you checked the colour of your oil? I don't want to tell you how to
look after your car, but the oil runs through the turbo as well, and it
sounds like there is bearing wear in the turbo, and this is possibly from
contaminated or old oil running through it for an extended period.
It is a 06 g35 coupe, has 40k miles on it. There is a constant rotating noise when it runs about 65mph, 70mph. The noise is noticable between 50mph and 80mph ...
yep, wheel bearing.. my 2004 sedan had a front wheel bearing go bad. It was
replaced by the dealer under warranty. I now have a rear bearing go bad but
no warranty. I found out it was my front bearing because the noise
increased or decreased while turning. The rear bearing is just constant
noise... I lifted my car to have the car running in gear (VDC off, 3rd
gear).. I listened for which side the bearing noise came from. Disclaimer..
do that at your own risk.
YES THAT IS YOUR WHEEL BEARING. THEY ARE ABOUT 200.00 IF YOU GET THE
COMPLETE HUB, OR ABOUT 80.00 IF YOU GET THE BEARING BY ITSELF. AWD ARE
LESS. THE COMPLETE HUB SETUP IS AN EASIER REPLACEMENT FOR THE "DO IT
YOURSELF" OTHERWISE YOU WILL NEED A PRESS MACHINE FOR THE BEARING BY ITSELF.
Did you get it fixed? I have the same kind of noise in my civic...still
wondering if my wheels which are actually due for replacement or my wheel
bearing has the problem.
