I understand a metaphor and I understand Becker. I know him. I've told him to his face he is wrong. Welty has the responsibility to make this university run. His stress level is probably off the chart. If you wish to cut his salary, then your willing to give up some of your salary when someone accuses YOU of making too much money? I attend Fresno State. The hikes hurt, but its because heavy taxes have driven out the people who pay the bills, business! Why aren't you protesting the legislature?

Jonpaul, after reading your comments, it is evident that the education system in the State of California has failed you too! If you weren't such a tool and you could realize this. As a result you would be just as angry as the students in this video. Frankly, if your not part of the very elite, you too are just waiting to get fucked. On another note, you wouldn't last five minutes in a debate with Dr. Becker. I dare you to challenge him in front of the student population on this issue. :-)

If you are so worried about the poor, you should be addressing the REAL reason CSU is being cut---a California Legislature, Democrat owned for YEARS, that has driven the tax payers (business) out of California. Whether you like it or not, no business tax revenue, NO CSU. They are still leaving this oppressive business environment in droves.

Whose University is this? It is the California State University system of which we pay to be a student, it isn't MY UNIVERSITY. I attend. Olive Garden is not MY restaurant, I eat there. Ridiculous. FREE EDUCATION? That stops at 12th grade. Anything worth having costs money. Duh! Becker is ridiculous.

Jonpaul YOU are probably the one that is having everything handed to you on a silver platter. What don't you understand about a 32% tuition increase? Do you not get how devastating that is to alot of students who can already barely afford college? STFU

Your parents didn't pay for your education by paying taxes. If they own a home they paid 'part' of the tax bill (less than 0.5%). If they are poor, they probably don't own a home and then they paid 0% of your k-12 education.
