speaking of Omegas, is Omega Aqua Terra Annual Calendar a good piece?
"Features the in-house manufactured 8601 caliber", so , in-house movement
and its an Omega, any advice?
Interesting stuff! Take my Vintage Omega Geneve for example which is my
beater and cheapest watch I own. It would cost around £700 / $1000 to buy
from a reputable dealer, but I have an insurance replacement valuation
certificate for £3400, as that is what it would cost to buy a new Omega of
similar specification. I may be able to fool someone who knows vey little
about watches and say it's worth £3400, but if I said that to someone who
did know about watches they would think I'm a complete asshole and liar,
and that I am just trying to impress people through dishonesty! I think all
you can do is be honest if asked by someone how much your watch is worth,
and give the price of what it would cost to buy one exactly the same as the
one you own from a dealer at todays prices. In the Geneve's case that
would be £700. However, you also need to know the cash in values as well,
as that is what they are REALY worth. I know people who claim to be driving
cars worth £100k, which ok was the price new but are now a fraction of
that. If they sold the car what would they get for it? That's the true
value.
dude...im not sayin its a scam...but lets put it this way... theres many
websites that will tell you that they can give you a list of police
auctions, AFTER you pay the membership price which is usually like $40+ a
month, ur best bet is to find some1 with a dealer licencse and see if
they'll take you to a regular auction. the car wont be dirt cheap but
prolly around 4-5k less
