Hi. This is so random but my parents used to have the same fridge magnet as
you. The one that says kitchen on it lol... I remember it from my childhood
home bizarre eh.
My favorite beer is Creemore springs Lager made in Ontario. Have you tried
that?
Vive la chouffe! La Chouffe Song. Het La Chouffe nummer. Muziek van La Chouffe, het beste bier ter wereld! Belgium, beer, best beer, blond beer, favorite beer, ...
you found sediment in this ????
this beer is well balanced , yet slightly astringent ...as it warms it
gets better.
imo this beer is sort of over rated.
it is good though.
I prefer an American ipa.
I still would give it a 80/100
I prefer American IPA's if they are brewed with specific hops...if they aren't the flavours of Belgian IPA's do match with me usually...though not always...really as long as the IPA is balanced I love it if it's all hops and in all hops I mean all mout puckering evil throat destroying resiny hops I'm usually very very very out.
Was that your boy at the beginning Chad? That was cute. Is he about three
or four? My boy is five and he has blond hair and blue eyes too. In fact,
he looks a lot like your boy, if that was your kid that is.
I love good Belgian beers, and this one is really good. I haven't had a lot
of Belgians because there isn't a large selection at my local liquor store.
The only ones we get are Hoegaarden, this one, Liefman's Goudenband, and
Leffe.
I've had this beer in the brown 750ml bottle and did not get any of the
skunkiness that you've mentioned. In my opinion this is a abv triple rather
than an IPA; you can almost compare it to Duvel. Sediment on the bottom is
from bottle conditioning which is common with many of the great Belgium
beers, this contributes to the awesome champagne like carbonation. A less
aggressive pour will leave much of the sediment in the bottle.
Sorry to say this, I am a Balgian, and I'm not just trying to defend my
country or anything.. But if there is a lot of sediment in this beer, and i
mean, if you can see little particles all over your glass, and i's foaming
like in the video when you open the bottle, it probably has been laying in
bad conditions for too long. And also you can get this beer in brown
colourd bottles, which is way better. Green and clear bottles are the
worst. ( I share your opinion;) )
This is the first review I ever watched of you, and I heard you are
American. I'm not trying to be cocky or anything, butI just hope you cooled
this beer enough ( around 4-5 degrees Celsius). Because that is actually
how us Belgians drink it.
otherwise, I loved this video, and lots of respect to you my good sir!!
Hey Greg, Michael from Hong Kong! I got my hands on this same beer in the
750 ml bottle. But it was a brown bottle and their was skunk to it. It was
fresh and the expire date is 08/2016. Shame you got the green bottle.
Rereview it in a brown bottle and be sure it's fresh. This beer is hoppy ir
really is. and I didn't have that carbonation problem. you might have got a
knock off. The one I had was straight from the brewery!! Cheers from
Michael in Hong Kong!!
Good review, but I think you have an old bottle that was obviously light
struck. I have some 330ml brown bottles that were bought in March of 2014
that have a drink by date of August of 2016. It is a hop forward beer when
it is more fresh and I didn't get any skunk flavors with mine. I love
Belgian Tripels such as Westmalle etc and I get more hop taste from this
beer than the standard tripel.
BTW, some argue that in 30 seconds in sunlight your beer will get skunked and we should be drinking out of covered steins if we drink outdoors or perhaps straight from a dark bottle.Personally I have never noticed a beer getting skunked before I can drink it just from sitting in my glass.Unfortunately a couple of my favourite beers come in clear bottles, fortunately though they have been skunk free. Lately though I have had two infected beers (not skunked) that came in brown bottles and one was clearly dated and I was well within the best by date.
When it is a green bottle I try to pick a bottle from the back of the
shelf. I don't think the stronger and more hoppy beers are as affected by
the light as are lagers and lighter beers.
