Yes, it was a bad PCV valve.

Rough idle for 2002 VW TDI

Idle was a little rough on startup. mostly fine once the engine warms up.

egr valve causes these fluctuations . remove the vacuum hose which control valve and stuffy with a screw . if fluctuations cease , remove and clean the EGR valve . If after cleaning and reconnection fluctuations reappear. Cancel or replace EGR valve . I had the same problem on a 2000 VW Passat 1.9 tdi tiptronic gearbox and it seems that the automatic often experience this problem

same thing goin on here, I even pulled the valve cover to check the cam lobes and lifters, everything is fine, cept it just kinda has little hiccups at idle, I shall have to have mine adjusted too!

the injectors needed to be adjusted I believe. took it to my local VW guru and he took care of it.

On my mk4 it was a leakin exhaust flex pipe, now fixed

Golf 2010 tdi dsg idles rough on cold start. Anyone know a solution?

I have no Idea. They just told me 3 out of the 4 injectors was faulty. The other 1 was already replaced before I bought the car. Its a expensive process if you dont have warrantee. I have never ever experienced a dpf regen cycle?

Hi, interesting, i resolved mine in the end with a dpf regen program update, wonder if they did this whilst doing your injectors? from what i found out all 1-6tdi 09/10 all started there life like this, it occurs when the dpf regens but a software update in 11 fixed it. I wonder....

Yes it was. Went to Volkswagen. Got 3 of my 4 injectors replaced.
