I remember this!!! At 8,000 feet, there was 4 FEET of heavy wet snow! No
one could go anywhere. Power was out for 60 hours at my parents' place.
Many old trees had broken-down branches. Six months later (Oct 2009),
another "perfect storm" covered the same areas. That also gave us 4 feet in
the foothills, and 2 feet in Denver.
True--it doesn't look like a foot of snow to me either but it was a BIG
storm and I think the total accumulation was greater than a foot. We have
had significantly more snow than that storm--including a 30+ incher in
Conifer a few years ago.

15-40 Denver & Beyond: I-25 South, I-70 East
This video has three stages, I-25 South through the city, I-70 East leaving the city and then a short stretch of I-70 East leaving Limon in the early evening.
Really enjoyed the second and third stages of the video. The stretch of
I-70 from Denver to Topeka is very underrated in my opinion. It does have
it's flat parts, but there are quite a few hilly areas along the way. The
landscape transitions from treeless plains to parkland to forest along the
way. Great as always :)
Very nice video, Jim, especially the third stage. Last year we drove from
Ohio to Wyoming and I actually enjoyed driving through a lot of "nothing"
accross the central west. One evening we left Huron, SD after dinner to
drive to our motel stop in Chamberlain. The kids fell asleep in the
backseat and my wife and I watched the sun set and thunderstorms form on
the horizon. A very nice evening drive.
Cool. Hard to believe at some points WITHIN A MAJOR METRO a moderately
trafficked freeway is converted to a super 2 even for construction. The T
Rex project and I 25 are pretty swank too. Also, thanks for showing off the
rural part of I 70 that I have been on, lol. I love the reveal of the
Rockies from the east in that area.
