A Fun Thing to Do as a RIPper (Retiree In Paradise)

Good grief, JC! Where is that "“sabai sabai” attitude of yours? I'm not
trolling you, I'm just pointing out a hazard of Thai lakes and streams that
may not be familiar to US / UK expats. On my first trip to Thailand, I
encountered and had to remove leeches picked up from slow streams in forest
reserves at Bang Pae (Phuket) and Khao Sak (Surat Thani). It's not a reason
to avoid the jungles or even the streams and lakes within the jungles. But
I do wonder if leeches are in issue up North also.
across asia showing off legs is no big deal, they wear ridiculously short
shorts all over and all ages lol Some countries the women wear skirts and
some countries the skirt is uncommon, but where they are worn its usually
short skirt. but its the top thats the important piece of clothing. Thats
where how you dress is about looking nice or sharp. If you are a man,
probably find out what shorts are masculane though, or just wear jeans.
JC, do Thais wear shorts like Americans and most farang? Or is this just in
the touristy, beach places? I ask b/c seems to me like the Thais place a
lot of importance on dressing sharp/looking nice. But I don't know for sure
b/c I've never been there, of course. I mean, when it's really hot there,
and if you're a farang, unless you're teaching or something, they probably
don't care, right?
Hi JC. I am jealous, I am sitting here, in Aberdeen Scotland with with all
of my fires on, and the wind outside is blowing like crazy, and the sea
crashing over the lighthouse, the wind chill is about 1:C, and i am looking
at you having a picknic on a beautiful sunny day, with a gorgeous girl in a
beautiful location. Life truly is not fare. Take care Neil.
Oh my God! Are we going jungle treking? Maybe not focusing on all the "what
ifs" in life makes life more enjoyable. Because there are always "what ifs"
anywhere you go in life. Just a suggestion! Maybe Thailand isn't a place
for some because the difference in the society will create to many "what
ifs".
Hi J C,hope you are all well.IM coming to Chiang Mai in July.Lokking to
maybe retire there.Hopefully we can meet up and have a beer or a meal if
you dont drink.Wanting to look at a few places around there.Keep up the
great clips.
Hey JC you have got the life-I'm here in Virginia and it's suppose to snow
tomorrow. You are making me think seriously about my retirement options.
The corporate grind is taking it's toll. Thanks for the great videos--MJ
JC, is that a Southern accent you have ? I am from Savannah Georgia now
living in San Francisco. Anyway, I'm coming to Thailand in a few weeks fro
my first time ever in Asia. I"ve learned a lot from your awesome videos.
While the jungle reserves and parks are beautiful, cooling off by wading in
still or slow water carries the hazard of leeches. This is true in south
and central Thailand. I wonder if this applies to the north as well.
Huay Kaew waterfall I suppose, just about 2-3 km from where I used to live.
Lots of Thai families on the week-end and there's always someone with a
beer and an offer to join the group ... sigh, I miss it badly.
Not in public places. But yes in tropical countries like Thailand (even the
North is about the same latitude as Dominican Republic and Jamaica) off the
beaten path you will encounter indigenous creatures.
Tried citronella last time I was in Puerto Vallarta (in August, so the
mosquitoes were wicked). Maybe it reduced the mosquitoes landing on me by
1/4, but don't expect the efficacy of DEET.
Outstanding work with these videos JC. must say, Miss Bam captured my
attention. she has such poise and charm, what better co-presenter. what's
not to like about northern Thai women
Great tips there JC: restaurant food to go, plates & utensils, citronella
for mosquitos and chalk for ants, all in 4 1/2 minutes. I like these short
burst vids
I keep seeing video links to 'Jack the ripper' with some of your videos.
Now I know why,,,lol. Citrinelle for mosquito repellent? I'll search for
it. Deet scares me.
Chiang Mai definitely has some beautiful options in and around the city.
Was that Huay Kaew Waterfall? btw, I think I've seen you around town at
least twice.
