The problem is people find every reason not to help. I've heard it all,
from that's why I pay taxes. So let the government help. As if the
government ever did anything right.
Second, I hear them say they will just buy beer or drugs with it. As if
they have a crystal ball I'm their pocket! Besides if that beer helps them
get through the day. Why care?
Third. You're cheating yourselves. As when you give in person. You get the
flipside reward of feeling good for it. Something people are robbing
themselves of. That one on one experience that some social worker can never
approach. As they do it as a job and pay check.
OK. While the man does have a point and I certainly don't condemn him for
it.
However, is this really helping those who are homeless? What he really
should be doing is helping them find jobs and a way out of their situation
and teaching that to his students. Also, while I don't wanna stereotype
anyone who's homeless, including those is this piece,how many of these
people are choosing not to improve themselves?
