The 100% electric Mitsubishi i-MiEV can play an important role in the future of transportation and feed power back into the Smart Grid. - Mitsubishi Motors Take a ...
9. Mitsubishi Motors While it never had a massive presence in the United
States, the niche Japanese automaker has had some success with models like
the Lancer and the Eclipse. However, Mitsubishi Motors will soon exit the
U.S. market, just as its Japanese rival, American Suzuki Motor Corp., did
at the end of last year. Its sales are nose diving. In 2012, Mitsubishi
sold fewer than 60,000 units in the United States in 2011 Read more: Ten

Hey napalm, you've obviously not driven the bean, or you'd know it leaves
traffic behind at every red light with smoother torque than any stinkin
engine. That is FUN! As far as utter marketing BS, it sure didn't feel like
that last winter when my house was warm and bright for a WEEKLONG power
outage while the neighbors were struggling to with gensets. (Done with my
homebuilt EV drag racer and an old UPS inverter, since Mitsu doesn't offer
their residential inverter for the US market yet.)
So you want an ugly, not fun to drive, expensive, small eclipse?!? This is
gonna attract the young buyers HOW?!? The new eclipse should have been a
lancer GTS with the RA engine in it and a standard 5 speed manual (or auto
foe the wannabes) to keep costs down. Change the sheet metal to a coupe and
bam, off you go. Could have been a fun 22-23 grand entry level fun car that
way (the RA tranny is a 12 grand tranny...between that and the AWD system,
that should be doable).
That is so cool!!! I wish more was said about this ability for electric
cars, like the i-miev to interactively share power with homes and pv. My
last home was so efficient the i-miev could have been the main storage
source. Very cool!
While the i-miev could benefit from insulation for below zero temps. I've
been more than please with my new i-miev. This car is definitely a sleeper
with more going for it than talked about for its price. Great car.
Okay....so lets get this straight, we loose efficiency when we produce the
electricity. We then loose more efficiency to store that electricity into a
battery. Then we want to lose even MORE to use it to power our offices and
homes?!? Every time we transfer power from one place to another, we lose
some of it. That's just how it goes. The ability to power stuff at remote
locations is kinda cool, but the home and office?!? Utter marketing BS.
If the eclipse was made like the electric bean, it would be all of the
things I have said...and you said you wanted an eclipse like the electric
bean. In anycase, an electric eclipse makes NO sense as the target market
is all wrong for what the price point will end up being.
first of all the eclipse is not ugly i own a 06 gt, but everybody has their
own taste, and second if they made an electric eclipse it would look better
than that thing, but again a matter of taste.
