I can get the number to say 40 lbs by just pushing it with my finger. I would not do this at a place of work . Weight is the amount of pressure your putting on the scale. Every scale has a maximum weight capacity. It is physically impossible for a light weight to break the scale when a heavy weight isn't able to do so. What happens if i kick it real hard. Can I break it. I must study the relation into matter squashing other matter. You cant squash a 8 lb rock even though you are over 20 times heavier. I understand squash its as a really heavy weight bam on a light weight. The matter has to move. If you were really heavy you'd start breaking diving boards, hammocks, chairs, beds.

I am on a restricted diet and must weigh my food. I put a small cup on the scale and turn it on. The scale will zero out with the cup and then I weigh the food in the cup.

For a small inexpensive scale this one works great. It is very sensitive and does a great job for a small kitchen scale.

Whenever you purchase a scale put a penny in it and you should get 2.5 grams. just a pre-test worth performing.
