Callaway C7 GT3-R, 2016 Colorado Diesel, Ford V8 TVR, Porsche GT4, Top 5 Fast Fails all on PND! • The Callaway C7 GT3-R • 2016 Chevy Colorado Diesel ...
Let's just make something clear, diesel TRUCK (NOT suv/car) drivers do not
want a quiter truck, in fact majority agree that they are already getting
way too quiet, that's why they modify them so much. They love the sound of
that diesel engine and those turbos blowing. Such a disappointment to see
Chevy following that philosophy. This is a pickup truck, not a soccer
mom/granny car. Make it sound mean!
The turbos definitely sound good, but so does the rumble of a diesel in general, and I think MANY people agree with me, probably majority of the southern states. In fact it is better sounding then most gas v8 powered trucks, especially the sad sounding f150 5.0L, and definitely WAY better sounding then any v6 or v4. And they're much more efficient and powerful when you change the crappy stock exhaust, delete all the useless crap they have to add to meet regulations, and get it tuned properly. I'd get this colorado but I'd definitely be adding a better turbo, exhaust, taking off whatever is dampening the sound, get and egr delete and get it tuned. But unfortunately the truck is already quite expensive for a small duty truck. Point is when a diesel rumble and the turbos are loud it most likely means that you are getting maximum performance and efficiency out of it. +cybertree Oh and you can't forget about torque, diesels have an extremely massive advantage over gas engines in torque. And if you do the things I listed above to a diesel the sky is the limit with horsepower, torque, and fuel efficiency. It's just a far superior engine when it comes to towing fuel efficiency and off roading.
+Waylon Shofner I moved to downtown Nashville rt in the city from So Cal... cut my exhaust off and welded in some blown out dyno Magnaflows. Sh*t echoes through the buildings when Im heading to work in the AM :) lol. #WORD BROTHA
Lol yes exactly! I'm sure my comment spoke for all of Texas and the rest of the South for that matter. Leave the quiet to the Prius' and smart cars. If I'm gonna pay the extra few grand for a diesel I damn sure better be able to hear the difference. Maybe the quiet is a city boy preference but who the hell needs to tow that much through downtown NY!
+Waylon Shofner I would expect ANYTHING less from a man named Waylon lol! OUTLAW Status... and I LIKE it! (As Eric Church would say... "Waylon wouldn't of done it that way".)
