+Happy Khan Dr Gary Gordon said for the therapeutic benefits of vitamin C you need at least 4 grams or more per dose for the real magic to happen with it. There aren't a lot of good oral vitamin C's on the market for high doses. The best I've found is the kind in two products vitality C and bio energy C. They are same thing different brands. Can go 15+ grams at a time with no tummy upset. Plus it stays active in the bloodstream for 10-12 hours. Normally with l ascorbic acid it's 3-4. So it makes it easy just twice a day. Plus it has almost no taste it is slightly sweet. Very high absorption too it has a delivery system. Hope that is of some help. Of course a doctor would help you fine tune the amount you should take but at least 4 grams at least twice a day is the starting ground.

I have been taking 2000 mg for over 2 years. I have developed
osteoarthritis in both knees. I felt a lot better before I started taaking
all these supplements. I felt better whn I was away and stopped taking 2000
a day and my knees felt better. big mistake to take so much.

His facts on Linus Pauling are incorrect. Linus says men should take around
3,000mg or 3 grams, not 200. How can we take advice from someone who gets
these facts so wrong?
+savedfaves I think Pauling said 6,000 to 18,000 mg a day in divided doses. The Linus Pauling Institute has become just another front for the low level shoddy science and corruption of doctors/pharmaceuticals.

+Robert Clayton Hi Guys! Good discussion! Actually, animals make vitamin C through their own metabolism...it isn't so much from vitamin C that they eat in food. I learned about vitamin C from the great Robert Cathcart, MD. He and I are in agreement that vitamin C is very important in human metabolism and also as a treatment for various diseases. The amount we need can vary from 100 grams intravenously to just 100 mg per day...it depends on the situation. I don't supplement with vitamin C unless there's a special medical indication, but I do eat plenty of fruits and veggies that are rich in vitamin C. Warm regards... Dr. Len
+Kyle Stewart Thanks for your interest, what I am saying is correct, they don't eat a hundred times more than someone who eats lots of fruit and vegetables. What I said was that their natural diet provides around a hundred times more C than we are told humans need. Our diet isn't the one we evolved on, many of our calories are obtained from unnatural foods. Milk isn't a natural food for adults, nor is white bread and all the other cereal based crap. Our primate cousins get from 3 to 10 grams of Vitamin diets C from their diets and in the UK we are told we need 40 milligrams. Our evolution was in the tropics eating a similar diet and we also got copious sun which gave us the equivalent of 5,000 iu of Vitamin D. These two nutrients are vastly under supplied by our modern foods and environment. All nutrients are important but the deficiency of these two can be directly associated with our migration from the equator.

If you are comparing humans that eat 1 or just 2 servings of vegetables a day, are you claiming that these animals eat a hundred times the fruit and vegetables than humans, or even if you say oh well they are way smaller so they only eat a fifth of what humans eat.... animals eat 20 servings of fruits and vegetables? years allowed me to believe your first thought, the one which is most loud
and immediate, is your animal instinct, and your second thought, the quiet,
more in the background thought, is the one that your soul really longs for.
For example, My body might shout out 'OMG CAKE' upon seeing cake, but my
soul actually know that the cake is not good for me. My first thought is
instant gratification, and my second would be intuition.
