I don't mean to be rude or critical, just a genuine question: Are you sure
you're as healthy as you think you are? At 4:20 when you put your hand on
your chest, you can see just how thin your skin is. You have bags and
wrinkles around your eyes. You seem smart but your mental acuteness seems
to be degrading. Comparing this video to your videos a couple years back,
you seem to have aged much more than just ~2 years since those videos. I'm
all for veganism, fruitarianism, or whatever health conscious path people
choose to follow, but I do feel like sometimes people will stick to
something just to stick to it even in the face of contrary evidence; it's
like an experiment where you determine the results of the experiment will
be good before the experiment is complete. Results should be the guide.
Your thoughts? Do you have blood work documents to show by any chance?
Thanks.
+gobbledy_ gook 100% fruitarian is very tough. But you don't need to be 100%. This is what I do now. Noon - fruit meal. 2pm - salad, with nut butter dressing. 5pm - high carb vegan (rice, potatoes, beans, greens).
+gobbledy_ gook I think intermittent fasting is important. I only eat between noon and 6pm. When you are not eating, you give your body a chance to FULLY digest what you have eaten. I am not calorie restricting - I feast from noon to 6pm. When you start intermittent fasting, from 9am to noon, your stomach will really be complaining. But that will slowly go away. People are eating WAY more than in the past. My advice would be to pick out your ideal weight. Then eat as little as possible but still maintain that weight number. If you do this, and eat lots of fruit, and get moderate exercise, your health will improve.
+The Fruit Addict Thanks for you response. I don't mean to come off as a "concern troll" by the way haha. I'm less concerned about you to be honest and more concerned with your advice and whether it will apply to me in a positive way. I want to achieve optimal health, ethics and dogmas be damned. There's a ton of conflicting information regarding human nutrition and it can be overwhelming and confusing, as both "sides" make very compelling scientific arguments. I've actually tried fruitarianism in the past...I honestly felt the best I've ever felt in my life, but after 2 months I fell of the wagon. I fell off due to temptation of more standard/cooked foods and due to lack of satiation. I would get "full" and bloated, but as soon as the bloat went away, I would be utterly ravenous again, eating about every 2-3 hours. I just wonder if this doesn't work as well for someone who is prediabetic and ~50 pounds overweight and at 5'10, has a LBM of about 180lbs (I'm very muscular with some fat to lose). This is my biggest problem with fruitarianism...even eating plenty calories (3-4k), it seems very hard to ever get or stay full.
+gobbledy_ gook Thanks for your concern. I feel great. I have been running a lot. I am 5' 11", 130 lbs. My blood pressure is 110/65. My resting heart rate is around 50 bpm. I hear your concern about getting attached to outcomes. But in my pursuit of optimal health, I have taken a lot of wrong turns, and tried many things and then after reflection decided to change course. I can tell you for sure, that eating a diet of primarily fruit & leafy greens will give you amazing health - just try it for a couple of days to see for yourself. I have also found that fasting, especially intermittent fasting is very beneficial. Also, the beard makes me look a lot older!
I've been doing the raw till 4 vegan diet as advertised by durianrider. I
eat a lot of sugar both simple and complex. will I be at risk for diabetes
because of this? and how would you recommend going about fasting? I have a
pain in my gallbladder area towards the mid right part of my back and its
just always aching. it gets a little bit worse when I eat fatty foods.
+Yes iYam I can't give you medical advice. I can only say what has worked for me. Since I have been eating a vegan diet I have been much healthier and never get sick. Each day I have whole fruit for breakfast, a salad for lunch and cooked carbs, like rice, beans, potatoes, for dinner. I try to do a 24-hour fast once a month. I think you should limit the amount of refined sugar that you consume and go for whole fruits instead. Hope that helps!

can you provide the link to the camu powder you are using? I bought Navitas
Raw Camu powder. I followed the directions and the camu powder did not
dissolve completely, and when I put it on my face it felt like an
exfoliator scrub. I did equal parts camu, water and aloe. Then, when it
dried on my skin it felt really TIGHT like a mask and I just rinsed it off
15 minutes later, but you said you leave it on over night which I would
like to do but it feels to tight. And, when it it on my skin it looks
orange. Please let me know. Thanks for your help!

Mine didn't devolve either and the powder somewhat separates, looking like I have little brown things on my face, my daughter referred to it as looking like... well use your imagination. Maybe the aloe in yours made it tighten up, I use what the op used plus sometimes add argan oil. I still put it on over night regardless, but put a towel on my pillow and rinse immediately after waking since by then it feels like I have sand particles on my face that may slip into my eyes.
